CRIME OR CALM: BE SAFE OUT THERE

We have all heard stories about notorious neighborhoods and vicinities that makes you want to double check before taking an apartment or check your locks properly before going to bed that's if you are already staying in such environment. Not just neighborhood or vicinities alone the crime rates in the country is so alarming so we should all be safe out there.

Crime rates can really affect so many aspects of our daily living like having to constantly watch over your shoulders,be cautious of where one goes to and even affect businesses that thrive at night time. In the vicinity where I live now,crime rates is surprisingly high these days and it's really baffling. I don't really know whether it's because of the economic hardship different happenings are just going down these days and it's just takes the grace of God and one watching carefully to be safe.

Crime rates ranging from stealing from people's houses, stealing phones from inside the tricycles boarded by passengers or even kidnapping it's just so sad. These crime rates has reduced so many economic activities like those businesses that thrives at night or even hanging out at night with friends. Once it's getting to 8pm you will see the roads and surroundings getting quiet because everyone is cautious and no keeping of late nights. Once it's 7pm am already indoors because I have been a victim of phone snatching when I was just strolling in my area.

Just last two weeks,I went to the market to get foodstuffs and other items from the market and I took tricycle that will just take me from the market that's not too far from my house to my street because the items were much. When we got to the entrance of my Street,I came down because I wanted to collect something from my dad's friend he was inside his car close the street. Immediately I came down from the tricycle to collect the stuff my dad's friend,the tricycle just zoomed off with my items and other things I bought. Other tricycle drivers tried to pursue him when they noticed what was happening but it was too late they couldn't get him and that was how I was robbed in broad daylight. It was really an heartbreaking experience for me. Recently ,there's a new divisional police officer and we are hoping the crime rates reduce soon and everything stabilizes.

When it comes to crime rates it's about finding the right balance. While there are vicinities with high crime rates there are others with lower crime rates. So it's important to be cautious everytime,use our common sense and be aware of our surroundings.
