Weekly prompt #37: When it comes to a question of ethics...

Double dating, huh. I never thought that someone could do something like that. It's a question of ethics; it's a matter of self-dignity.

No amount of reasoning can make it correct. After reading a few posts on this community, it feels great that people around the world still think the same.

Hello everyone,

I'm new in this community and this is my first post. Words are powerful, and I like to express myself through them. I'm exploring and learning about Hive. Today, I would like to participate in this prompt.

The prompt is about double-dating.

"What do you think about double dating? Is it something we should embrace due to the fear of heartbreak, or it's something that we all should avoid? Tell us what you think and support it with your reasons".

My thoughts on double dating.

I know a few who do this and never give a second thought how much they are harming both parties.

  • It's a form of cheating, even if anyone is not committed and doesn't have any physical relationships. Because you promised your heart to someone and without taking a break from that, you decided to look for other options. How this is acceptable?

People say this is just time passed and nothing serious.

I mean, seriously? If so, then why don't you pass the time with the one you committed to? Or does your commitment mean nothing?

I embrace traditional values. That means if a boy or girl is committed to a relationship and has a love between them, then they must fulfill the vow unless some obvious thing happens; like having too many arguments and personality differences.

If anyone likes to step on another boat, they shouldn't hold back the previous one. It creates an imbalance, making the old and new ones question the relationship.

To be honest, no one can live peacefully in this state of their life situation. I read stories about men and women who keep their lovers hidden for decades. It crosses every line of trust.

  • Double dating breaches the core of a love relationship.

  • It affects the trust.

  • It's unethical to play with another person's heart and life.

  • Double timing hampers the self-dignity.

  • It affects the person's future life because they can't see what they are doing wrong.

  • It kind of objectifies human being and their relationship.

  • It blocks the path to creating genuine relationships.

There's no justified reason to do double timing. And it goes the same for men and women. If you are having issues with your partner, tell them the truth and move on.

Men do this to gain physical benefits and women for financial - I have seen so many cases.

Living an ethical life where you wouldn't feel ashamed of your actions is necessary for peace and happiness. Doing ruin it by double dating.

Thank you for reading.
