I may not have a dream house but I have the dream.
Growing up, we didn't have much—a small house with a smaller and messy backyard—but I'm grateful for that. My parents did everything to make our lives comfortable.
That didn't stop us from admiring other households rather it was quite the opposite. I wouldn't lie, I used to feel a little embarrassed taking my friends to my house because their ones were better.
If I say it specifically, there was one particular friend of mine, she was a classmate if I say it correctly but not a friend, but we sometimes went to her house after school to spend time. Her house was very well-managed, always put together, smelled good, and the decor was nice.
It was not a big house but a small three-bedroom house with a beautiful front yard where they had a garden with many flowers. They had so many wall hangings, paintings, crafts, beautiful decore all over the house, and small show pieces; everything attracted me at that time.
Now, when I look back I believe it was not the house in particular that attracted me but the charm of the household that made me want to have something similar when I grow up. The coziness of the house and the ambiance is still something I can remember. Also, it was a very quiet, peaceful, calm, and green-filled house.
Probably their house was very opposite to ours and that's why I wanted to have something like that.
If you ask me now, I would probably want something similar to my house.
I never wanted much from life. A small house, a family, no mention of our next meal; that's it. But life became so difficult that I didn't manage to make my own house till now and there's no sign I can do it in the next 5 years.
But the dream has no limit. So if I had the ability I would-
Build a cozy two-story home with a modern yet classy design. It would be a spacious house with huge glass windows for natural light. A comfortable deck to enjoy nature, a large living area to spend time with family.
I would choose a traditional yet modern style so it would feel classy and comfortable at the same time. I would not go with today's minimalist designs but a balance in between so the furniture, the rugs, the kitchen, the walls, the outdoor; everything would look classy, and comfortable with a personal touch.
The life I'm living now, it's quite funny to say out loudly about my dream house. It feels like a daydream. To be honest, I don't even think about these things so much because I'm a human too and this makes me feel sad sometimes.
Nevertheless, I admire other's houses, feel good about their interior choices, and give them appreciation for what they have done.
I may not have a dream house but I have the dream. That's the beginning.
Your @peacefulsoul
I love your simple unique choice of House,
That a very lovely house I could imagine
Thank you for saying this. I don't have high choices but the simple one seems difficult now. Maybe one day this will come true.
That's so true, inflation caused the price of things to go super high
If you will ask me, I personally will not want a very big house as my dream house
That makes two of us.
To an extent, a lot of us did have that friend whose home was so different and better than ours for many reasons 🥹
Glad you could picture what dream home would look like from the one you've seen, it's a good sign that it is very achievable.
I hope you own your dream house someday.
You said it right; it's achievable, nothing extravagant. I hope we all can someday have our dream house.
If you put in the work, you can actually make your dream house a reality..
