Healthy eating and quality of life - SMP W9.
The correlation between our eating habits and quality of life is evident. Everyone has to agree when they eat healthy, they feel better. That doesn't stop us from eating junk, skipping meals, and building unhealthy eating habits.
I wouldn't claim myself the fittest and healthiest person you may know. But there are some good habits that I follow. Moreover, as a mom of two, I have to look after my family's health. So, having a balanced diet is mandatory.
Quality or quantity?
I don't know why but I never can overeat, my body reacts very badly. A burger sometimes feels full. There's no question about quantity because I can't.
If I talk about the quality of my food then I would give my plate a rating of 7 on average.
Healthy eating always stays in the back of my mind but sometimes I have to choose otherwise. For example, I sometimes provide fast food to my children because of my busy schedule. But that never repeats to the next meal. I try to make a balance.
Eating schedule.
I believe (and it's proven) that we must follow a routine in our daily lives. The time of eating has a huge impact on our body.
Our body is like a bio-machine, it needs fuel in time to run.
Following a routine helps the body work a lot easy because it can run smoothly. I understand, that for people who live alone; it might be hard for them to do so. But on the other side, it's not that difficult if you have the right mind.
I run a family so there's no question about skipping any meal. Every day I have to make breakfast, tiffin, lunch, and dinner. Sometimes, when I can't I buy something quick like sour bread for breakfast, pizza for dinner, etc. That never happens once or twice in a month.
I never let my children 'hungry-eating'. I taught them from a very early age to take meals at the right time and have snacks if they need so. I too try to follow the rule. But sometimes I have to delay my lunch when I'm at work.
My diet.
To be honest, I have never followed any strict diet throughout my life. I'm not obese but a little bulky. I eat mostly well, I'm an active person, and I feel good. So, I never followed any 'trend' of dieting.
I believe, that eating mostly good like having a balanced diet of protein, and vegetables, taking less carbs, and avoiding junk food can save us a lot. You can also call it a diet.
I have never taken protein shakes or anything. But I keep the egg, meat, vegetables, and a small amount of carbs in our diet so I think, it's working well for us. Also, I usually eat freshly cooked meals not much processed food. Moreover, I usually avoid soda, I'm sober by all means, and drink a lot of water. So, I may not be the healthiest person on earth but I have a 'not-so-bad' eating habit that keeps me going.
There is room to improve, no doubt. I also have a plan to improve our diet gradually, adding a variety of protein and fat, and lowering our carb intake.
I hope in the future I will manage to do that. As I have said earlier, it depends on our mind what we like to follow. Eating healthy is a choice. Anyone can change a few things in their diet and start eating healthy. I believe, we all can do that.
Thank you for reading.

I guess we both have something in common. Eating is a necessity for every human to stay healthy and active but when it comes to maintaining a strict diet, it feels like work.
Exactly. That's why, I don't follow any strict diet but avoid all the unhealthy food. It makes a balance and keeps me healthy.
Thank you.
