The prompt posed by the ladies of hive community that states "if I would consider re-marrying or having another partner if I was a 71- year old widow?" Is a very interesting prompt. We are asked to share our reasons and I'll be sharing my response and reasons with you all.
Driven by personal needs and desires, it is essential to
prioritize emotional well-being and communicate openly, and consder what is best for life.
I think to me , I will say yes to the prompt. Meaning that I will re-marry if the opportunity comes my way even at that age. My reason is because as one grows older, you find out that there are so many things you would need a companion for especially when your children are grown and left home to make their own families.
I can re-marry mostly because of my health and well being and for companionship. Also, there are other things to consider like social support , practical support and help, with shared experiences and memories, financial implications and many more.
When old age comes, it comes with a lot of challenges and the need to look up to someone who is a friend and a companion.
These are my reasons why I'd like to re-marry but everyone's choice might be different, depending on individual preferences.

I think I understand your points. As an old person it is important for someone to always be with you, apart from the fact that you might need someone to assist you with chores, loneliness is also not good for an old person so in some cases it is better to have a partner.
I agree with you, everyone's choice to get married at that age can be different, and yes, considering looking for someone to be a friend and partner can be an opportunity, thanks for sharing your experiences,
