The name oleander reminds me of two different characters symbolizing good and evil. I attribute goodness to its beautiful appearance and its healing properties. Perhaps evil is a result of its being poisonous. These flowers, which we usually grow in gardens, are resistant to drought. The oleander flowers, which I often see on the banks of the water leading to waterfalls in the Mediterranean, start to bloom in the early summer months. We can say that they are among the most aesthetically beautiful flowers, especially with their pink-like color. The outdoor areas of five-star hotels on the Mediterranean coast are full of decorations of these flowers. We also had oleander flowers in the garden of our old neighborhood. The white flowers turn yellow over time. The flowers, which resemble the color of peach, turn between pink and dark red over time. The oleander flower looks aesthetically beautiful, but you should not get too close to the flowers. Some of them can be poisonous.

Zakkum ismi bana, iyilik ve kötülüğü simgeleyen iki farklı karekteri anımsatıyor. İyiliği, güzel görünümünden ve şifalı olmasına dayandırıyorum. Kötülükte belki de zehirli olmasının bir getirisidir. Genelde bahçelerde yetiştirdiğimiz bu çiçekler, susuzluğa dayanıklıdırlar. Akdeniz'de şelalalere giden suyun kenarlarında çok gördüğüm zakkum çiçekleri, yaz aylarının başlarında çiçeklenmeye başlarlar. Özellikle pembeye benzeyen rengiyle estetik açıdan en güzel çiçekler arasında olduğunu söyleyebiliriz. Akdeniz kıyılarında yer alan beş yıldızlı otellerin dış mekanları bu çiçeklerin süslemeleriyli doludur. Bizim de eski oturduğumuz mahallemizin bahçesinde zakkum çiçeklerimiz vardı. Beyaz renkli çiçekler zamanla sarıya dönüşürler. Şeftali rengini anımsatan çiçekleri ise zamanla pembe ile koyu kırmızı arasında tonlaşır. Zakkum çiçeği estetik olarak güzel görünür, fakat çiçeklere fazla yaklaşmamak gerekiyor. Bazıları zehirli olabiliyor.

In this project, which was initiated within the scope of developing tourism and creating different sources of income, a lavender dream is being kept alive in the village with the efforts and rights of everyone. Especially the women of the village made a great contribution to this project and tried to create a living space for themselves. These flowers, which are between 20 and 60 cm tall, generally bloom in June and July. In my opinion, the most important feature that distinguishes lavender from other flowers is that not only its flowers but also its leaves and stems smell nice.

Doğada ya da Akdeniz kıyılarında yürürken, burnunuza güzel hoş kokular geliyorsa, bilin ki, lavanta çiçeğinin yakınından geçiyorsunuzudur. Bence lavantayı diğer çiçeklerden ayıran en büyük özelliği sadece çiçeklerinin değil, yaprakların ve saplarının da güzel kokmasıdır.

I took my daughter to visit an ancient city near the Kaş district of Antalya when she was a baby. As we were driving through the city, I stopped when I saw the daisies on the side of the road that were shining and looking so beautiful in the sun. It made me feel the beauty of spring and the warmth of the sun. I stopped and sat my daughter among those daisies. We sat there for five minutes among the beautiful smelling daisies.
