Cutting Pass Canyon / - Kesme Boğazı Kanyonu ( EN-TR)

As soon as I heard its name, Kesme Boğazı Canyon was one of the canyons I was curious about. I finally managed to take this trip last week, which I had been putting off for so long. My friend and I were very excited to see this supernatural landscape up close, which not many people know about.

Adını duyduğum anda Kesme Boğazı Kanyonu merak ettiğim kanyonlardan biri oldu. Uzun süredir ertelediğim bu geziyi geçen hafta nihayet gerçekleştirebildim. Arkadaşım ve ben, pek çok kişinin bilmediği bu doğaüstü manzarayı yakından görmek için çok heyecanlıydık.

Kesme Boğazı is located approximately 45 km from Antalya city center. Situated within the boundaries of Kemer district, the gorge is located within Beydağları National Park. You can reach here in 10 minutes by minibus from Kemer. You can come here to see it at any time of the day. The best part is that it is free. Right at the entrance to the canyon, there is a very old fish restaurant built next to the water flowing between large and small rocks. The owner mentioned that this place was used as a transit route by merchants and Turkmen nomads in the past. There is also a historic stone bridge from the Roman period on the side of the canyon near the restaurant. The Turkish flag placed in the middle of the canyon seems to blend in with nature. We immortalized our moment right in front of this beautiful view and the Turkish flag.

Kesme Boğazı, Antalya şehir merkezine yaklaşık 45 km uzaklıktadır. Kemer ilçesinin sınırlarında bulunan Boğaz, Beydağları Milli Parkın içinde yer alıyor. Kemer'den kalkan dolmuşlarla 10 dakika da buraya gelebilirisiniz. Buraya gelip, görmek için, günün her saati gelebilirsiniz. En güzel tarafı da ücretsiz oluşudur. Kanyonun hemen girişinde, irili ufaklı kayaların arasından akan suyun yanına yapılmış çok eski bir balık restoranı var. İşletme sahibi, buranın çok önceleri tüccarların ve Türkmen yörüklerinin yol geçiş güzergahı olarak kullandıklarından bahsetti. Aynı zamanda burada akan kanyonun restorana yakın olan tarafta Roma Döneminden kalma tarihi bir taş köprü bulunuyor. Kanyonun ortasına koyulan Türk Bayrağı doğayla adeta bütünleşmiş gibi görünüyor. Hemen bu güzel manzaranın ve Türk Bayrağı'nın önünde anımızı ölümsüzleştirdik.

One of the places I believe will be most loved by nature enthusiasts and those who appreciate Hungary is the canyon, which boasts a rich vegetation I have never seen before. The Kemer Orchid, an endemic plant species found only in the Mediterranean region, grows here. It is very sad that this unique plant is threatened with complete extinction in the future due to the unconscious digging up of tubers for salep production and the destruction of its natural habitat. The single-arch stone bridge, approximately 4 meters long and 20 meters high on average, located at the narrowest point of the canyon and dating back to the Roman period, has been preserved to this day after undergoing several repairs.Source

Macaresever ve doğa tutkunlarının en seveceği yerlerden biri olarak gördüğüm kanyonun etrafında daha önce hiç görmediğim zengin bir bitki örtüsü var. Kemer Orkidesi adı verilen dünyada sadece Akdeniz bölgesinde bulunan endemik bitki türü burada yetişmektedir. Bu özgün bitki salep üretimi amacıyla bilinçsiz yumru sökümü ve doğal yaşam alanlarının tahrip edilmesi nedeniyle gelecekte tamamen yok olma tehdidiyle karşı karşıya olması da çok üzücüdür. Kanyonun en dar noktasında yer alan ve Roma Döneminden kalan yaklaşık 4 metre uzunluğunda ve ortalama 20 metre yüksekliğindeki tek kemerli taşköprü birkaç onarımdan geçirilerek günümüze kadar taşınmış. When you arrive at Kesme Boğazı, there are many sporting activities you can do. First and foremost are nature walks, bike tours and photography. We didn't stray too far from the canyon itself. But there are wide dirt roads around it that you can take to climb the high mountains. The greenish mountains facing each other create beautiful views in the area.

Kesme Boğazına geldiğinizde, yapabileceğiniz bir çok sportif aktivide var. Bunların başında, doğa yürüyüşleri, bisiklet turları ve fotoğrafçılık geliyor. Biz kanyonun bulunduğu noktadan çok fazla ayrılmadık. Ama etrafında yüksek dağlara çıkabileceğiniz topraklı geniş yollar bulunuyor. Birbirine karşıklıklı bakan yeşilimsi dağlar bölgede güzel manzaralar oluşturuyor.

As I mentioned at the beginning of my article, there is an old fish restaurant on the edge of the narrowest point of the canyon. The owner has tried to design the restaurant's decor in a way that does not spoil the natural appearance of the canyon. There are tables and benches on the sides, right in the middle of the bridge. At the entrance, seating areas have been designed using old stones, a paved path, and wooden planks. You can sit in these areas and watch the water flowing from the canyon and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Live music is also played here on weekends. A few souvenir items from the region are displayed in one section of the restaurant. The small wooden huts with red tiles around it are quite eye-catching. Trout, beer, French fries, and hot meat dishes are available at the restaurant.

Yazımın başında da söylediğim gibi kanyonun en dar noktasının kıyısında eski bir balık restoranı var. İşletme sahibi, restoranın dekorunu kanyonun doğal görünümünü bozmayacak şekilde tasarlamaya çalışmış. Köprünün tam ortasında kenarlarda masa ve sandeyeler var. Girişte eski taşlardan ve yapılmış yol ve yine ahşap tahtalardan yapılan oturma alanları dizayn edilmiş. Bu alanlarda oturarak kanyondan gelen suyu ve etrafın güzelliğini izleyebiliyorsunuz. Burada aynı zamanda hafta sonları canlı müzik yapılıyor. Yöreye ait bir kaç hediyelik süs eşyası restoranın bir bölümünde sergileniyor. Etrafındaki kırmızı kremitli ahşap küçük kulübeler oldukça dikkat çekici görünüyor. İşletmede alabalık, bira, patates kızarması ve sıcak et yemekleri sipariş ediliyor.

The water source, formed by the high peaks of the Bey Mountains, filters through the Mediterranean vegetation and sedimentary rocks, flowing into the Kemer Sea. You can enter the turquoise-colored water pool formed around the three-arched stone bridge. Here, you can explore the scattered rocks and small water pools. You can sit on your camping chairs among the rocks by the water's edge, looking around and listening to the sound of the water. There is a goat mascot at the top of the rocks. The Turkish flag is displayed just below it.

Beydağlarının yüksek tepelerinden oluşan su kaynağı, Akdeniz bitki örtüsünün ve tortul kayaların arasından süzülerek, Kemer denizine dökülüyor. Havuz oluşan üç kemerli taş köprünün etrafındaki turkuaz rengini anımsatan su birikintinde suya girebilirsiniz. Burada taşların dağınık halleri ve küçük küçük oluşmuş su birikintilerinde gezebilirsiniz. Suyun kenarında taşların arasında, yanında ve önünde kamp sandelyelerinizle oturarak etrafa bakarak suyun sesini dinleyebilirisniz. Kayaların en üstünde bir keçi maskotu var. Hemen altında da Türk Bayrağı sergileniyor.

My friend and I entered the canyon and walked towards the source of the water. We took photos in the beautiful spots. As we walked, we saw huge rocks and green moss growing underneath them, as well as an old bridge built long ago to facilitate passage. The local people use these pools of water coming from the heights by installing pipes in their fields and gardens.

Arkadaşımla birlikte kanyonun içine girerek, suyun geldiği noktaya doğru yürüdük. Güzel olan yerlerde fotoğraf çektik. Yürürken karşımıza koca koca taşlar ve taşların altlarında oluşmuş yeşil yosunlar ile geçişi sağlayan çok önceden yapılmış eski bir köprü daha gördük. Yerel halk yükseklerden gelen bu su birikintilerini kendi tarlalarında ve habçelerinde borular koyarak kullanıyorlar.

I'm sure that by crossing this bridge and taking the dirt roads leading uphill, there are much more beautiful views on the high hills. Because where the water comes from, there are naturally formed rocks and plants growing in the fertile soil surrounding the water sources. When I come here again, we will continue our explorations by climbing those high mountains.

Bu köprüden geçerek yukarlara giden topraklı yollardan geçerek yüksek tepelerde çok daha güzel manzaralar olduğuna eminim. Çünkü suyun geldiği noktalarda doğal oluşumlu taşlar ve su kaynakların etrafını saran verimli topraklarda yetişen bitkiler oluyor. Buraya bir kez daha geldiğimde o yüksek dağlara çıkarak keşiflerimize devam edeceğiz.
