RE: Plastics - The risk in 3D printing

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Do you have any specific concerns about plastic?

Many plastics used in home 3d printing biodegrade in sunlight. Despite their prevalence, plastics have not yet been shown to be toxic.

Not to mention, you can make your own 3d printer filament with recycled plastic.

Plastic is one of the most recyclable, harmless things that humans have created. I don't understand the ire against it.

Wow plastics are not harmless. You can read about it in several places. Coral reefs are also disappearing because of microplastics. There is evidence that human semen contains plastics that cause infertility. Plant tissues contain microplastics. We eat microplastics everyday. You can google all these information and read in detail about them.

I have done that, and I'm well aware of the prevalence of microplastics. I have yet to see evidence linking it to any actual harm. If you have a link with that evidence, please share.
