We don't have snow for Christmas.

But we have the mist from the Atlantic Ocean. A mist so nice that it even hides the mountains, and in the meantime, it is a very hot day. 32C in the car.
Can you see the mountains in this picture?

Come on a short road trip with us, to see the effects of sea mist on the land.

I have 3 mountain shots, then 3 road shots, some birds and finally the moon to share with you.

I know that there was a movie called "A Misty Day", but I haven't seen it, as a friend told me about it. So, this is my idea of a misty day. Occasionally, the wind will come over on a hot day, and it will scoop up the steam from the ocean to blow it inland. Then over here it will cover everything in a white mist.

We live in a big ocean bay, meaning that the sea is at the front (West) and a mountain range surrounds the town at the back (East). Often, the winds from the vast inland area will come in over the mountains and then it will clash with the winds coming over the sea. It is spectacular to watch the clashing winds ripping the clouds apart.
But not on this day, as the winds from the sea were in charge.

Below, you will see some road views of the mountains.

Now let me show you sights later in the hazy day!

First up is to show you the hazy sky.

Then some doves in a distant tree at sunset.

And here below are some moon shots.

And finally a hazy shot of the "clear" moon :)

I always find it so fascinating to watch the weather at play over the bay. But at times we have to be very careful, as some severe winds like the South-Easter wind, called the "Cape Doctor" start to blow. It can tip big trucks and rip many house roofs off. Even the old deeply rooted trees cannot withstand this wind, as it simply rips the trees out roots and all.
Strangely, we now again have a "Severe Wind Warning", and as it is now the holiday period, many visitors to the province have no idea about the dangers of the winds in the "Cape of Storms".
Ever seen a pedestrian swinging horizontally while desperately hanging on to a lamp pole? Next time that I see this, I will share some photos.

For now, this was our day and I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

We ourselves have to travel for 12 hours to see the snowfall and the journey is very dangerous so we have to be very careful. All these pictures looks so beautiful.

We also have snow here more inland in the province, but it also is nothing like the snow in Europe. So it would take us many hours and much money to take flights from South Africa to Europe to see the snow. We don't have that kind of money.

This kind of weather is also very beautiful. People go out and enjoy events with friends. If it snows, the happiness is doubled.

Yes it is lovely. Snow is another of nature's wonders, and I have seen online how people enjoy it.
