Two birds of prey to share in here.
The sky was a beautiful blue, and I could feel that my camera was very happy.
Look how luxuriously he stretches his leg in the photo above.
First up is the famous Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), world famous for the fastest dive in the wildlife kingdom.
And to catch him on camera during a preening session was a real joy for me. I took 42 shots of him and have a small selection in here for you of this wonderful bird. Of course, I will show you more of the photos in the future, but today I had to hurry with this post as the sciatic nerve in my back is acting up again. A very painful experience, as the nerves send shooting pains down the legs and I battle to walk today.
But such is life, and I am not complaining. Age is simply taking its toll.
The peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), also known simply as the peregrine, is a cosmopolitan bird of prey (raptor) in the family Falconidae. A large, crow-sized falcon, it has a blue-grey back, barred white underparts, and a black head. The peregrine is renowned for its speed. It can reach over 320 km/h (200 mph)
And this guy, is the great Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus) that I will show you after the shots of the Peregrine.
Right, some more shots of the Peregrine below.
I have no idea what he was doing here, maybe he was trying to show me a thumbs up. Lol.
.
I was sitting in our car, and I couldn't get out, as then I would scare him away.
This is the Jackal Buzzard posing for some shots.
A murderous looking eye stared at me. I think he wanted to impress his girlfriend when she sees this proud look.
Scouting out the territory.
And then, he was gone, the sad thing is I couldn't get him taking off, as he flew in an opposite direction to where I was sitting in the car.
It is now going to be a battle again with my back for the next two or three weeks, and this is not the first time that I suffer from a sciatic nerve injury. The funny thing is, as I bent down in the chair to sit, I sneezed, and can you believe that a sneeze can misalign your lower back. So, I will never sneeze again when I try to sit down in a chair. Lol.
We tried to contact our doctor this morning, but he was not available, so, I am doing some stretches that were advised for this injury.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

The entire kingdom of birds is truly admirable, as are these photographies that you captured. I always remember that birds are direct descendants of dinosaurs and it fascinates me even more. Great blog! I do enjoyed! 👏🏼
Oh yes, and we also admire all of the wild residents in nature. I am glad that you also find the kingdom of birds admirable. The birds have some great ancestors in their ancient dynasty.
Happy that you enjoyed the post.

amazing bird, the first picture is so cool. the most beautiful pose of the lord of the sky.
I love the Peregrine falcon, not only for its speed, but also for its extra sharp eyesight. The bird can spot a field mouse from a mile high in the sky.

Such a wonderful picture taken, they are really rare and beautiful shots 📸. Also so sorry about your back and I hope you get better and stronger
Quick recovery sir @papilloncharity and I really hope you get well soon
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the compliment, and at my age I have faced many battles with pain, so all will be well as usual.
The sky is indeed a very happy sky. The tenderness that can be eye catching sometimes in the camera makes it beautiful. Thanks for sharing that to us.
I am glad that you see the sky as a happy sky. My belief is that the eye is at most times better than a camera, as the eye is directly connected to one's brain and emotions.
