The sky in color.

I have a few sunrise shots, and then some sunray shots to share.

At 13 Celsius, it was no joke to stand outside, and a very cold wind made things a bit unpleasant, but as usual, I just did my thing with the camera.
The first of two cold fronts is now moving inland, and the weather prediction is that the second will arrive 3 days later. Tons of water came down last night, and it is like winter is desperately clinging on for all its worth. We had the same situation last winter, and the cold continued to arrive until late August.

I took photos of the advancing clouds of this first cold front, and I got some unbelievable shots that I will show you in another post. But for now, like I said above, I will show you two sunrise shots below and then the rest of the sunset photos. In the title of the post, I said "The sky in color", and I think that you will agree with me that at times one can see great art in the sky.
So, come and see what I have for you.

Two lovely sunrise shots below.

I think that you will also see my love for sunrays in the photos below.

This was how the sunset started, and I had to wait for about an hour after this, but it was worth the wait.

Right, here we go with the sunset, and my hands felt like ice blocks :)

You can see the outlines of a mountain on the horizon, and by this time my ears were frozen. My parents blessed me with big ears, and at school the children teased me as they said somebody had left the garage doors open. So now my big ears try their best to collect as much cold as they can get, and now I can say that somebody left the freezer's doors open:)

Just one last shot, and then I was done.

Note that there were no wide shots, as the sunset was not spread across the sky as usual. There were just rows of dark clouds around. So, it was almost like a small window was opened to show me the sunset. But I don't mind, as to me, at least, it was absolutely beautiful. Just that one spot on the horizon where all the action was taking place.

The winter solstice was on the 21st of June, so now the sun is ever so slowly working its way back to its summer position. Actually, it is not the sun that is shifting, but rather the earth that is turning. Just the way that we always describe the apparent "shifting" of the sun and the moon. The geography file, in my mind, is full of dust and I don't remember exactly what takes place, but I know it is something like this that I described here.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Sunrise and sunset make a difference in the beauty of the sky, even in winter. The sun's rays are majestic and look incredible, and those clouds reflecting vibrant colors are spectacular. One of my favorite things to see is sunsets because they look beautiful. Excellent post and incredible photos. You've done a great job.

Thank you, and what I like is that we are in a winter rainfall area. The clouds after a storm start to dissipate, and they form strong lines in the sky. Then one just has to wait for the sun to appear from behind one of the lines at sunset. Magical views.

Wow, how beautiful! It's spectacular! It's a spectacle among the clouds. I've seen it several times, but not in the same way. It's more like the sun's glare breaking through the clouds. And it's fantastic. Thanks, friend.😊

I can imagine the tough time shaping them at 13 degree...but the warmth of rising Sun must have given the strength to make this besutiful piece happen....lovely photos

Yep, not so pleasant in the cold, but worth it if one wants to get great sunset shots. Sadly, no warmth of the sun, as the winds are icy cold.
Thank you, and I am glad that you liked the photos.

Starting a beautiful day, the sky gave clouds in the shape of love. A very beautiful moment. You captured it at the right time.

Golden hours are peaceful parts of the day. When you look to the sky a ray and a heat tends your face. Your photos are magical. You encapsulated the brightness of the day.
