Sunset, Solstice, and my 8 year birthday on Hive.

Yep, three topics to discuss in here, and they are all good news.

First up will be the start and the end of the sunset, and as you will see we have some great winter sunsets here. With so much cloud around lately, we were blessed to get this break in the clouds, and it took place at sunset. Almost similar to a movie when the curtains are opened for the screen to appear. In this case it was the clouds that were opened, and on the sky screen these wonderful photos appeared. It ran like a silent movie, and the beauty kept us transfixed.

This was the start, and I gradually started closing in on the sun, which was my target.

The sun started dropping behind the band of cloud.

And here the sun was behind the cloud band.

Then the sun started sinking below the cloud.

Here is a closeup of the sun at the bottom of the cloud.

And finally, the sun started to disappear behind a thick band of cloud on the horizon.

Now let's talk about the solstice. We are in the southern hemisphere, and our winter solstice took place yesterday, on Saturday the 21st of June. The solstice results in the shortest day and the longest night of the year. The occurrence of the solstice also tells us that for a full week we will have the shortest amount of daylight for the year. Note that there is also a northern hemisphere and six months after our winter solstice, it will be the turn of the northern hemisphere's winter solstice. A bit of goggly-gook here, but that's the way that I understand it.

And now, I will talk a bit about my 8-year birthday on Hive. Been through a lot, seen a lot, and survived a lot. A note to any newbies reading this, I want you to know that I, at several times when I just started on Hive, was thinking of just walking away from it, but thankfully I persevered. Most of us, and I will call us veterans, started on Hive exactly the same as what you did earning cents on our posts for a long time. But eventually, we all started to grow, and to this day we are all still growing every day. If you want to get anywhere on Hive, then hodling is the way to go. Grow your stack so that you can have skin in the game, and all will be well with you. Just my way of looking at things. Short, sweet, and simple.

Well hello Zac 😊 all fine here. Hope you both too?
I am continuing with my crazy adventures. After being 6 weeks away in southern France visiting friends and needed a break, I am back in the cold north now. Finishing up the renovations on the cabin and packing boxes as… of course I am moving again haha doing it in style this time. I bought an old van 🚐 to move everything ourselves. In 2 long trips. Crossing many countries : Update and van. It all will be fun. Hope to finish all that before next winter arrives.

I think that I told you before that you are a nomad Jackie, and you beat our record of moving hands down. So now that you have a van, it can only make things so much easier and also cheaper. No more room rentals on the way, and to pay for removal companies. The van was a great idea. !LOL

You are right, I don't have idea how many perseverated in the Hive Journey. Most of my post at beginning didn't get even a vote. I stop two or three times abscented by months. The only thing I was trying is to Invest some Hive, looks for different ways to invest throght Hive-Engine till something caught me posting every day since some three or four years. It was thanks to Actifit App which pushed me to post my daily steps. Ending 2024 I took a look and I realised if I am more active my account will grow more. And then it is having significant change. I just passed my 7th year on Hive on May.
