Sunset flyers.

I love it when some birds cross over at sunset, as the colored clouds form a great background.

At times, the colors in the sky during sunset look heavenly. Here above, the Pied Crow was greeting the day and calling his family to make their way home.

As usual I was outside in our front garden, and I saw that the sky had started to color, so I popped into the house to grab my camera, and you will see the results below. Colors at sunset are great, and I concentrated on birds this time, as the birds give a great character to the lovely clouds in the background. Their silhouettes and shapes break up the expanse of sky and provide movement in the foreground of the pictures.

But most of all, it is the life all around that keeps shouting out to us all, trying to show us and to teach us a better way of living. It is not that the birds are without their own problems. They have predators, hunger, cold, and the weather to contend with. Not to mention the fight for territory and for their place. Humans are one of their biggest enemies, with "progress", "development", "research", "agriculture", "mining", and "pollution" invading their spaces of safety. So, to see them living out their lives with zest and energy, is motivating and a lesson amid all the problems we too have to face as humans.

This below is how the color changes all started.

From yellows above, to pinks below.

Then to golden browns and a pair of advancing Hadeda Ibis birds.

Time to find rest and safety before the darkness arrives.

Pinks and purples, reds and golden mauves, and five seagulls headed inland for the night.

Another seven seagulls headed in the opposite direction, with the sun on their bellies.

Ooh, life...do we appreciate you? Are we thankful for that breath in our bodies...with the passing of each day? The birds do appreciate it. They are thankful for what they have and another day to live. Just as the colors beautify the end of a day, so too may we have color and passion in all we do, being grateful for another day, whatever the colors of the day, whatever the weather, whatever the problems. We face them, and we do so with the beautiful life that has been given to us. With the birds we sing at the start of the day and let out a cry of happiness in the colors of our days as the sun disappears and the night brings rest.

Know that there is always hope, and that without it we are lost. We are a people who do not give up, and like the birds we soar on high with the currents, allowing the sun to warm our bellies, and being grateful for the day filled with adventures and challenges. Those challenges build our characters and help us to grow. We look forward for the next day, and what it holds. What colors will it bring?

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Let us not lose hope that humans will succeed in stopping the damage they are doing to nature and that the skies will be reborn with their clean colors so that birds can resume their more colorful flight.

All that we have is hope that sanity will be restored with regards to all of the damages, but as long as profit is the driving force behind the destruction, things will continue to get worse.
Many wild animals are becoming extinct, due to the destruction of their habitats.

Likewise. A very unfortunate situation that seems to have no end...

Clearly, everything around us has life. It’s a powerful reminder that we should protect our one and only home — our Earth 🌍
