Sunset and full Harvest moon, 2
If you cannot get the full moon on the mountains, then get it on the clouds.
You will see some lovely views in here, as I said in my previous post that I would be posting the full moon today.
The fact that the Hive price has tanked doesn't scare me, as I have seen it before. All that I can say about it at this stage, is not to panic, and I will just continue to do my normal quality posts, as if nothing has happened. Like a candle blowing in the wind, I heard a whisper that the tariff wars have something to do with it. But that has nothing to do with me, as I can do nothing about it, except for my normal creation on Hive.
I digress and let's have a look at the Harvest moon.
You will see the moon at the top right of the picture.
And so, with a bit of zoom, I started to get a clearer view.
Okay, now with much more zoom :)
The 1937 Maine Farmers' Almanac published a list of full moon names that it said "were named by our early English ancestors as follows":
Winter Moons: Moon after Yule, Wolf Moon, Lenten Moon
Spring Moons: Egg Moon, Milk Moon, Flower Moon
Summer Moons: Hay Moon, Grain Moon, Fruit Moon
Fall Moons: Harvest Moon, Hunter's Moon, Moon before Yule
You can read much more about the moon at the Source
Here you can see the moon at the top right, moving a bit to the left.
And I grabbed another full zoom shot at it.
Then the clouds started to cover the moon, and the colored cloudy layers were impressive to see.
And sadly, on our way back, as the show was over.
I took the photos on the 5th of October, and the 6th of October was the official date for the moon to take place. Just as well as I did, because on the 6th of October, the sky was almost covered with cloud. Nevertheless, I tried to get the moon in the cloud breaks, as you can see below.
This was taken on the night of the 6th of October.
And so, it was a moon trip adventure that paid off handsomely. I looked forward to the challenge to get the moon, and fortunately nature allowed me to get a few shots in. A photographic picture journey is indeed a great hobby to have, and I hope to have many more in the future, as there is so much more to discover over here. That is of course if my health would allow it, but that's a worry for another day:)
We are planning a short trip soon, and as always, I will be sure to share it in my blog, as I have shared most of our previous trips. South Africa has immensely wide open spaces throughout the country, and not one of them is the same, as each area is distinctive and filled with nature of different kinds. So, if you are into nature reserves, or wildlife resorts that include the big five, or maybe you want to go on a Safari, then this is the country to visit. Just make sure that you read the safety warnings for each area that you visit.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
