Some lovely landscapes.
I am a realist and I act on impulse in most things that I see and do.
Now, how's a double cloud burger on a mountain?
One of those very hot days with strong winds that blanket the mountains in a haziness. In fact, the first picture was the only one that I could get a semblance of clarity in a photo of the hamburger mountain. The rest of the mountain scenes are all hazy. Of course, the strong winds continue to change direction at the drop of a hat, that makes it very difficult for the fire fighters to try and control the many wildfires that we have here. Thankfully they are all professional firefighters, and they eventually will win against the acre-eating fires.
Did I tell you that the mountains are hazy in the heat?
Have a look if you can see the goose in the photo.
There he is!
Some more hazy landscapes below.
Because firefighters have been hard at work battling several infernos, the Western Cape government wants the National Disaster Management Centre to classify the wildfires as a provincial disaster.
Fires in several communities in the Cape Winelands and Overberg districts have been raging since last week, with high temperatures and strong winds fuelling the flames.
Yes, we live in dangerous times with all of the fires, and we also are so sad, as many of the small and slow little animals get killed. The firefighters are brave guys as they do not only have to work in the heat of the blazing sun, but it also cannot be cooler when faced by a wall of flames. We also feel for all of those that lose their homes in the fires, and the South African news, and social media is alive with all of the fire reports. Thousands of acres of land are being lost to the flames, and it will take a very long time to recover.
South Africans are known as a very resilient people, and we will once again overcome all of these fires.
Such is life.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

Thank you kindly for supporting this post.
These views that occur are very beautiful especially when it is rainy season or when both the clouds and the sky are visible in this way, it is a great pleasure to see the natural views.
Thank you and there was no rain, as it only rained the next day in the afternoon. Glad that you liked the natural views. !LOLZ

Most welcome dear.
You have no idea how much I love my African tour every time I see one of your posts! The mountains, opposite season of whatever is going on here, and then thinking of those papillipns. ;)
Wildfires were the subject of the season last summer up here in Canada. 🇨🇦. It seems every year there have been reports, mainly when they approach a town and impact people directly. Last year, perhaps I was paying closer attention or more people were and there seemed to be more infographics and shocking metrics everywhere. The only slightly humorous aspect was when the winds would blow the smoke south and it got trapped in the smog domes around big US cities. They were not pleased!
Anyhow, sad to see the results of the fires down there and I hope they get them under control together.
We are thawing out a little up here but i am preparing for at least 3 more snow storms while others are starting to shop for beach wear!
Blessings from the North!
I am so glad that my posts can stir your memories my friend.
Yeah, I saw some photos of the wildfires in Canada, and we also sent some of our firefighting teams up there to go and help. It was devastating, and I hope that it will not happen any time soon again. I take it that you don't like the big US cities very much !LOLZ
Last that I saw in the news was that they are still battling with two fire lines in dense growth, but they will most certainly overcome them.
This is a lovely photo, and I hope that the snow will give you guys a nice break now.

Do they burn because of drought or because of the negligence of people who leave fires there? Amidst all the smoke and the image that was created in my mind of fires and disasters, that stream and the ducks added a touch of freshness.
There are many causes, especially when the areas are in a heatwave and most anything can start a fire. Negligence to kill a fire after cooking, or boiling water can also cause a fire, as a strong wind can collect the sparks and spread them around.
That stream turns into a big raging river when stormy rains flow down from the mountains. It normally floods everything in its way. But you are right, as in here it's a touch of freshness.

Has it been long since it rained there? Here in Havana, we currently have a cold front and quite unstable weather with winds and rains. In fact, yesterday there were parts of the city affected by fallen trees.
We are in a winter rainfall area, and it is now summer here. So the expected rains are still a few months away. Sad about the fallen trees, but lately the weather is crazy all over the world.
There are also terrible wildfires in Chile.
