Some landscapes in and around our town.

A happy Friday to all and for some reason I felt the need to share this with you, as it differs a bit with the normal pictures that I share.

Massive clouds around on this day and it made for some dramatic photos, I think. Just an ordinary day some may say, but with the vast amount of damages that the extra high waves have created to our coastal towns, nothing is ordinary. Everyone is perplexed at the weird weather changes and it might get worse. The last time that they had waves similar to these, was in the 60's, but even then it wasn't this high as it is now. Apparently, the reason is that there were two full moons in one month and that created a huge springtide.
So come and view some random photos.

Even these Cape Bulbuls didn't know what was going on weatherwise.

Slowly, late afternoon, the sky started to darken.

This below was the view when we arrived back at home.

And still the clouds played around during the sunset.

Strong, high winds have created the sights, and thankfully the winds were not so bad closer to ground level. Some days, those same winds can rip entire trees out when it is down low.
I have read that they reckon that the ice caps are melting, causing the ocean levels to rise and that, if it is so, is not very good news for us. Many of our coastal towns are just above sea level, and if it is a case that the ocean levels are rising then all of those towns will have to be relocated to higher ground, which will of course cost a fortune.
So lets hope that this will not happen.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

We get the same type of birds in Fish Hoek.. they also visit as a pair. They love to splash around in the bird baths.. too adorable!

Oh yes, the Cape Bulbuls are all over the western cape province, but they lose the white rings around their eyes up north in the country. Glad that you also like them.

The first cloud photo looks too low and seems to be reached by hand.

Almost, as the clouds even touch the ground here some days.

Intense low cut-off warning going out from today to 26th on SAWS, high winds, heavy seas, lots of rain again.

Looking at clouds arriving here once again, promise of rain on Sunday, wait and see the ground is dry here!

Thank you and I love the dark threat that those clouds will turn into.
We now have a very strong and severe wind that will surely create much damages again.
