Some feathered friends at nature’s spa…

…and I think that they were waiting in line to take a shower.
166.jpg

Hot sunshine and rain puddles worked hand in hand to create a bird spa.

The tag picture shows a line of Hadeda Ibis birds sitting on a fence. They are known to be very noisy birds, but on this occasion, not a peep was heard from them. Maybe they were all waiting for a spa treatment. It was one of those scarce bright and warm mornings, as we have had some rains, and as we are in a winter rainfall area, we hope that much more rain will come to fill our dams. Our summers are very hot with the result that evaporation drops our dams to dangerously low levels. A couple of years ago we were faced with a day zero situation, as the threat arrived of no drinking water in the western cape area, but thankfully we had a miracle, as suddenly the rains arrived. So, both the wildlife and humans appreciate the views that I will show you here.

Now I don't know what goes on in a spa, as I have never been to one, but I think that this one below had to clean herself before a nail treatment :)

This Sacred Ibis had a hot water treatment, and she was desperate to get the water off her hair (feathers).

Just have a look at that fluff and the breeze acted as nature's hair dryer.
176.JPG

177.JPG

Yay, she squealed as finally it was done.
178.JPG

A very clean egret was daintily searching for a snack after it's spa treatment.

And finally, mother moon was a witness to all of this.

Okay, I admit that in my own clumsy way, I inserted some humor in here, but it is just the way that I see and interpret things in life. At times, we have to face some very hurtful situations in our work at Papillon and also in general life, but I have always used humor to make myself feel better. After all, life is to be appreciated, and just a thought of millions of others that have to face the same situations, albeit with different solutions, some solution always appears. At times, we have to fight and at others we simply have to endure. I, for one, have never tried to hurt someone else, even though a few have hurt me deeply. But this is just the way of life, and revenge has never been in my scrapbook. I live by the saying that if you hurt anyone else, then in fact you are hurting yourself.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

keep up the good work

nice collection of birds , and then the bunch of school kids on the fence .

People always try to hurt you one way or the other, some out of greed and some out of stupidity , it's better to focus on those that give you warmth and comfort instead.

Thank you kindly for the nice words 🙏
We only do what we can in the background my friend but thank you again.

No, I will not be able travel, as we are not presently in a financial position to travel anywhere.

Also, sad that I cannot meet you in person, but we don't know what the future holds, and maybe someday we will get a chance to meet.

Thank you milady, and I cannot imagine a life without humor. Just a pity that others cannot learn to laugh at themselves, as it is a real stress reliever !LOL

The method of creating images is also the most important, which makes the image even more beautiful.
