Some amazing sights to share.

I have also included a must watch short video, not of what you would expect to see.

The sun was slowly descending, but there were still some beauties to see.

I have shown you the river 5 days ago, and now I will show you some more photos of our visit. Late afternoon during a power cut is the best time to go down to the river not only for the lovely mountain shots that are colored by the sunset, but also for some action shots in the water. The river runs through a local doggie park, and people have cottoned onto the idea of taking their dogs for a visit during the power cuts. Of course, the dogs love the freedom of running around and we love to see their antics in the water.

But first I want to show you something special in the video below. Ever heard the territorial call of a Pied Crow (Corvus albus)?

We call this tree the local pied crow hotel.

No, no, the dog below is not the local tree root inspector :)

He was looking for his ball and he found it.

And proudly he swam back to his owner, in order for the person to throw the ball into the river again, for him to fetch.

I started the post with the sinking sun, and I end it with this full African wild sunset.

Yeah, we have much fun down at the river and as the water of the river originates from a spring in the nearby mountains, the water is pure and healthy. That is until the heavy rains come down in winter, as then this river becomes a raging torrent that creates a wide raging flood. Last year we lost an entire school that was demolished by a flood, and now the government is rushing to complete wide and deep trenches downstream towards the ocean, before the winter rains arrive again.
Another property for the school was purchased and it will hopefully soon be ready to accommodate the children again. Not an ordinary school, as the learners come from previously disadvantaged areas, and that's why it's so important to get the school up and running again.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
