I am sure that must be some plant that the mossies don't like in your area, and if a damselfly appeared, then maybe some dragonflies will also pitch up. I haven't seen your pond, but here the ponds have a few big rocks and some reeds around it, with a fountain as drags like moving water. But as you say frogs and newts can also be a threat to the mossies.

We need that natural balance to deal with pests. I will do what I can to encourage the predators.
