I wonder if you know what this is?
Definitely not every day that one would see this.
Any ideas would be welcome in the comment section, before you look at the other pictures.
One never knows what one can find traveling around in town, and I always have an expectation that something will pop up to interest my camera. So, on this day I was happy, and my camera was happy. We were on our way back from a charity meeting, and we popped in at a wine farm for some coffee.
Then I bumped into an unexpected friend, and he showed me this.
Come and see.
Here is another clue.
There she was, a lovely old Dodge truck that looks like new.
High performance wheels.
And finally, there you can see my friend behind the truck. What a blessing it was to see this. He specializes in refurbishing old classics and we often visit his premises that is completely rigged out with all of the equipment needed to restore old cars. So many of the old classics that we see on the road here, have been restored by him. Either back to their original condition or ramped up into performance vehicles like this Dodge.
And now for something else.
This is a cute little Mini-Minor 1000 in its original condition. No, my friend did not work on this one as I found it somewhere else in a parking lot. Many years ago my one brother-in-law and his wife both had yellow Minis like this one. I think that the Minis were manufactured in the 60's and the wooden trim is very special on these little car, what they call station wagons.
The owner might be a surfer, as the roof rack has padded centers to strap a surfing board down on. A cute little car, and very light on fuel. We often also see surfers driving around in little old Volkswagen Beetles, like they stepped out of a different era, and all of them are young guys. So, they keep up the tradition of the fun that the surfers had many years ago.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I often see a Morris Minor around here. The Traveller with wood trim is less common. I expect there are still a few around. I grew up seeing such cars all the time. There are a lot of old VWs around as they are considered cool. Keeping a 50 year old car on the road will be a lot of work, but people love them.
Great that you guys still have the Morris Minors on the roads and you are right, as many of the original owners here also send a lot of time and love on their old cars.

Lovely cars and the wood trim sets them apart as special. We also have an old 1930 truck here and the entire back loading area was built with wood. Fantastic to see.

I was just hooked, and watched today two YT videos - about the beautiful 'AVIONS VOISIN' brand, and immediately another one about the outstanding art-deco cars design of 30-es (ofc, the videos were in Russian), maybe the links will be of no use for you, but let me treat you back with !BEER and !PIZZA (again).
Hi @qwerrie, thank you for the link, and even if I don't know the language, the pictures told me the story. It was great to see how clever the inventors were. So, let me also treat you to a !PIZZA with !LUV from my side !LOLZ

When the lens of an excellent camera is aligned with the extraordinary talent of the photographer, results like these are obtained, to which you have accustomed us dear @papilloncharity. How can you not enjoy relics that are portrayed with all the love of a passionate photographer, as you are?
Thank you for this lovely and kind comment dear friend. By grace I was born with keen eyesight and a steady hand, so after a few years of practice, the results are improving. Hive is a wonderful place to share one's passions. Be well and may your efforts also grow every day.

Que homos vehículos, para los coleccionistas es un sueño, felicidades #papilloncaridad
After seeing the first picture, I didn't know what it was, then after seeing the rest of the pictures below, I realized that all the cars of the old days were much stronger and more beautiful.
Oh yeah, today we drive cars covered in thin metal and plastic. Those days people drove thick metal cars with no plastic. A big difference.
