I lifted my eyes up to the heavens...

...and what did I see?

A Bi Plane came over with its baby :)

What a magnificent sight, and it caught me totally by surprise.
I heard the sound of my beloved plane and rushed outside to see something that I have never seen before. A smaller plane was accompanying the big bi plane, and the thought came to me as I watched them that the pilots of the two planes were masters of their crafts. Maybe they were practising for an air show, and I will have to find out if it is so.
So now come and watch this great flyover.

The photo sequences come straight from the zoom of my camera.

Just look at that, as the smaller plane's wing seemed to go in-between the biplane's two wings.

And then they were gone.

The sky started to cloud over, and we knew that some rain would be on its way.

Just a natural flyer to end the post.

The local Stellenbosch airfield is a great place to visit. Families and non-flyers are welcome, as they also have a good restaurant, with tables outside next to the runway. The area is fenced off to prevent persons and children from running on to the runway, and so it is safe for families and friends to visit. We have been there a couple of times, and the staff are very friendly.

The management also run the place like clockwork, as one would expect at an airfield. One can see mountains and nature surrounding the airfield and the layout is beautiful. At times, some pilots also come and sit at the tables, and they are always available for discussions with the public. Many families own small planes, and they travel all across the country. So, if you ever plan to visit the Western Cape province, make sure that you put the airfield on your bucket list.

For more information you can visit the airfield's website.

Haha it was a good comparison, because one really does seem bigger than the other. Your photos are amazing; looking up can bring us great surprises when taking photos!

Cheers!

Eat how close they are flying! They also have their landing gear down still so it must have been the end of the flight or just a short test run.

Whenever those antique planes go up, seems to me they must be a part of some air show. I used to be a ww2 fighter plane enthusiast but have never actually gone to a show. Maybe I should!
