Fun shots on a Friday.

A sunbird drying, and a small dove relaxing in a warm rainwater pool.

Sadly, I could not get the sunbird bathing, as I could see some small water drops behind its head.

The birds are showing us how to handle the strange weather. One moment rain, and the next moment sunshine. So, they make the best of it, as just before the rain starts, they storm in to feed, and after the rain, they preen and relax. Mother nature's message to me in this instance, is to make the best of it when problems arrive, and to relax after overcoming them.

Clean as a six pence, and, happily it looked at me. It is a Southern Double-collared sunbird. (Cinnyris chalybeus).

Now let's look at the bird below at nature's sauna.

It is a small Laughing dove (Spilopelia senegalensis).

The sun emerged after some rain, and it warmed the pool.

Flipping a wing over for the sun to dry it.

Sat calmly and giving me some looks.

I think it is a female, as shyly she turned her back on me, to flip her other wing :)

So lovely to stand and watch scenes like this, and nobody can say that birds are not intelligent. They have no mobile phones that have transfixed the human race, and no Smart Watches to tell the time. And yet, the birds can tell us what a day will look like weatherwise by their actions. Learning from nature every day is a blessing, and we enjoy looking out for what they have to tell us.

Today we also saw another dragonfly and butterfly. They have arrived very early and should only be appearing from September or October, but they are showing us what is coming. With them day by day, we enjoy the good days, but we also listen to them and hear that things are going to get worse weather wise (and in other aspects of life), so we need to be alert, every day for what is coming, but also to appreciate what we have and that we see another day.
Enjoy the weekend - appreciate it!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Love how this captures the quiet wisdom in nature. The way you tied the birds' everyday habits to resilience and balance really stuck with me. And those photos, especially the sunbird are gorgeous.

Oh yes, so much wisdom can be found in nature. Glad that you found some information that meant something to you.
That little sunbird is also one of my favorites, and he also has a great song.
