All photos taken in one morning.

We have strong wind gusts here, changing the views like a movie.

I felt the need to show you how the views could change during the early morning hours.

Nothing is a constant here, as our famous storm winds rule the skies and the ocean waves. It is raining here now, but it was expected as the weatherman got his forecasts correct for a change. Only by Thursday next week will we have a clear and sunny day again. So, it will be difficult to dry our towels and the wife's washing. Last week, and again this week, we had 13 hours of power cuts on Wednesday last week and on Wednesday this week, and we could not find a reason for the issue, as the only excuse offered was transformer break downs.

No photo captions now, as I want the photos to tell you your own individual story. All that you need to know is that the photos were taken before the heavy rain arrived. We could not travel very far out, due to the weather as I don't like to drive in the rain. Some people here think they are on a racetrack when it rains, and we regularly have heaps of accidents in the wet conditions.

The latest news here, is that two dam walls have collapsed in the Malmesbury area, resulting in severe flooding. And the fear is, that a third dam wall might collapse so all of the people are being evacuated. The dams are now overfull, and they cannot handle the continued river inflows as it creates additional forces. All of the emergency teams are out there, handing out food parcels, blankets, and all of the other emergency needs. It's never nice to hear, as we were also once trapped in such a flood. One liter of water weighs one kilogram, and when one hundred thousand liters of water in a river comes down, it takes even cars away. Thankfully, we are approaching the end of our winter rainy season, and a whole lot of repairs will once again have to be done.
Such is life.

I hope you have enjoyed the photos and the story.

Days with storms and winds are also usually attractive depending on the mood and other aspects. Those shots look like movie scenes :)

Thank you Dimas,, and I agree with you as stormy days can either be depressive, or attractive to one's mind. Glad that you liked the shots !LOLZ

Farm dams breaking a very scary reality with anyone downstream, the Cape has had a very wet season this year!

Photography does tell the story of how fast the scene changes, wind down there doesn't help either.

Driving in any conditions of late one has to be extra cautious, wet conditions or fog there are some crazy characters who have no concern about the drivers they share the roads with.

!LUV have a great Saturday.

If you Google the current status of the broken dam walls near Malmesbury, you will see how destructive it can be for the communities below the walls. They reckon that this wet winter season will set some new records, and I laugh at those that predicted a warm winter season with drought.

Mother nature tricked us, as we went out in a very fine drizzle, but on our return, she opened the heavens. I don't know why so many simply ignore red traffic lights, and we have already had 5 near hits already this year.
Have a look how wet it was now on our way back.

!LUV and we hope that your Saturday is much better.

Farm dams have never been built with people accommodating land in years to come.

Great destruction to man when living below any dam wall should it give. Was on the news about the two with a possibility of more collapsing,

While the West is under water this season the East is burning, Bushman's Nek Hotel and Resort engulfed by a devastating veld fire Thurday/Friday running through Southern Berg.

!PIZZA happy Sunday

Yep, they call it progress, but it should never be allowed .

Ah, so you saw it on the news, and it is very bad over there.

Last night we were discussing the fire at the Bushman's Nek Hotel, as a friend donated her timeshare to us over there some years ago. We stayed in one of the chalets and it was a beautiful place. So sad about the news of the fire.

!PIZZA and hope that you will have a good new week.

Agree should never be allowed, people will do it irrespective to be close to source of water.

Fires running through the valleys up is totally wild, over the years many places have been hit by catastrophic damages. When it ran up adjacent valley three fire fighters lost their lives.

!WINEX love to you guys down in the Cape.

Yep, and they are allowed to do that even when the results show up on all of the dirty beaches.

That is a big problem as the wind can shift and then come up from the rear. In my army days, we called up to go and help fight the fires, and it was a real messy and tired occasions. Nowadays the conscripts don't get called up anymore. Sad about the deaths.

!WINEX it is and hope that your week started well.

Sounds like you guys have had more rain than ever known before, crazy droughts now excess, Oh well that's life....

Army conscripts did a lot when required, built up national pride at the same time. !PIZZA

Oh yes, they say that many records were broken. Droughts have always been around in some areas, but you are right, as that's life indeed.

Sad that the army conscription system was tanked, as we see many youngsters that will benefit greatly from the discipline that was taught.

Many countries still have training, perhaps a good idea to reboot here. Gives the youth time to decide the future.

If only, as it will also make a dramatic impact on the unemployment problem, and another bonus will be that our troops will become properly trained.

I don't know the guy, but I think that he will do great things. About anyone listening, I have my doubts.

That is certainly the way to go, and we shall see when the performance list of the ministers is released.
They are arguing about releasing the list to the public.

Transparency would help, keep those earning massive salaries in check.

Big fights between all are starting to emerge, and we can only hope that they stay focused on helping the people.

If those elected only did what they were placed into positions to do the country would be in a far better place.

Sometimes I think that it will only remain a pipe dream. The way that those guys fight for positions is really not conducive to favorable outcomes for the people.

It's more about the personal power and income, than it is on the tasks in hand. Always been like this.

Was looking at this after research, "apparently" they of the opinion average earnings R40k out of their minds on media.... On the other side of the coin!

Source: Government Gazette, April 2024
In 2023/24, there were over 55,000 government employees earning above the R1 million figure.
South Africans also paid R724 billion towards the entire government employee wage bill.

Shocking reading, and it means 55,000 are millionaires. If their performances were something to crow about, it will make a wee difference, but nothing for the people to be happy about.
