A visit in the countryside.

I will share some landscapes, strawberries, and other lovely views.

That white building has to be a lodge or something like that, and just imagine waking up in the mornings to see all of what I will show you below. The farm is situated about 10 kilometers from our home.
There are many fruit farms over here and of course, also the winelands. So, come and join us on this visit to one of them. We often visit this farm, as they serve the old original farm coffee in a plunger and the taste is to die for.
One would expect things to remain constant on a farm, but not so, as there are always new sights to be found.

Here is a wider view and you can see the black plastic lines that cover the strawberries. They use the plastic to preserve the soil content, and also to protect against weeds.

I don't know if it's only me, but I don't like sour strawberries. The sweeter the better as they say. Visitors can buy the packaged strawberries at the farm shop or bring a bucket and pick their own in the land. The shop then charges per kilogram.

Now please study this picture intently, and see if you can see what I saw in the center of the picture.

No? This is what I saw, a herd of cattle.

We liked to see how the sun covered this mountain peaks as a dark cloud came over.

Finally, this was the view when we returned home. It looked like that tree was trying to grow through the cloud, but the sun stopped it.

Strawberries, with cream, is also a favorite of so many. Or what about fresh sweet strawberries in a salad, or to counter the dark bitter taste of a good quality chocolate cake? Now let me tell you, that the ladies on the farms know how to cook and bake. Not only chocolate cake, but also other types of cakes like pineapple cake, carrot cake, cheesecake, and much more.
At times, when we have some spare cash, my wife goes for a slice of cheesecake, and I go for the chocolate or the pineapple cake. Soft, moist, and delicious. Thankfully, it is early spring season here and the sun is so very welcome, especially after a very cold and wet winter. But human nature is what it is, and when summer arrives with that blazing African sun then we all long for the cool again:))

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
