A real foggy start to the day.

Similar to last year, winter still hangs on for all it's worth...

...and let me show you what I am talking about.
The new cold fronts have not stopped coming in, and I can tell you that not only do they bring cold and very strong winds but also rain over most parts of the country. Invariably we have some almost clear days, but the skies are cloudy on most days. Not very pleasant, as the clouds block the sun, and we sit most of the time with low temperatures. Not that I am complaining, as I just go out there every day to show you the beauty.

Now you might think that I write in short paragraphs, but I can only type on the keyboard with one finger, and it takes me a while.

This is what it looked like on the road up from our house.

And here you can see what one of the hills looked like.

The afternoon looked a bit better, but still not clear.

Amazing how things can change over here during a day, and change is indeed a constant. The Cape is known for its winds, and nothing is safe during the wind gusts that can travel at very high speeds. Lately, the rain has become shorter of duration, and the quantity of water has increased. So beware, as one can become drenched with water even when the sun is shining in some other areas. So, yes, things can become risky here, but we are getting used to it.

The sun shone in small breaks between the clouds.

In the afternoon, the clouds started to rise up.

Ever so slowly, the clouds started to move away.

And at the end of the day, things looked like this below.

Note that I will soon show you more about the sunset above in another post. Simply fabulous about how a day can turn out to be. For instance, if you look at the morning photos above, then a lovely sunset is not in one's mind at all. We were expecting rain again early on, and it did rain again the next morning. One can also not read the weather when the winds change direction in an instant, and a sunny day can change to rain within a half an hour.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Winter mornings are fabulous, and the sky even more so. But I'm not talking about midwinter mornings. I'm talking about those seasons I should have already passed. Those are colorful mornings where every cold cloud sparkles with the sun's radiance and the sky descends upon the earth like a curtain. It's simply beautiful all over the Earth. Thank you, friend.

I agree that the mornings are fabulous, and in our case even the midwinter mornings are great. I think that you mean the clouds in the sky descends upon the earth like a curtain. Earth is indeed filled with the beauty of nature :)

Although the foggy images have a nice atmosphere too, I really like that last shot!

I knew somebody would like that last shot more than the others, and I will, maybe next week, do the full sunset post.
Glad that you liked the post.

Cloud cover and fog can be more photogenic than a bright sunny day 😁

I saw this post yesterday while running out the door for a busy day where it was foggy here too. Set a reminder to revisit this morning.

Neat to see the mountains, fog and sun in the middle of winter ant think it looks like summer here in the pics. Winter seems so much different up here!

Love my jaunts every couple days across the globe. Happy summer from Canada!🇨🇦

Wow! Great photos, and we never get snow like that here where we live, with only a wee bit on the high mountain peaks. I like that sun shot in the fog. Stay well my friend.
