A lovely late afternoon.

At times I make it out there in nature later in the day, and this was just before sunset.

So, in here I will show you some late mountain views and then also the sunset on our way back home.

After a hot and sweaty day, it's so great to take a drive with the car windows open when things get a bit cooler later on. Our weather is up and down, one day very hot and the next day cold. Many damages are also caused by floods further up in the inland areas, and people continue to lose their houses. I don't know what the future holds, but I know that we now live on an angry planet.

Let's first have a look at the mountains, as the sun was receding.

This was our return trip, and I took the photos from our car.

I was glad to see the yellow and golden colors, as there weren't any red colors, then it would mean that the morrow will heat up like an oven. We often have days when the sky is red at sunset and it's definitely not a welcoming sign.
But this here was beautiful, and I knew that the morrow would be similar to this day, weatherwise. As long as we stay at 24C or thereabouts, then we can manage, but when it starts to climb into the +30C, then it becomes a real problem.

Finally, that lonely tree stood as a sentinel that greeted us as we arrived back home.

One can take a trip in any direction here and it is guaranteed that beautiful nature views will be on show. Then on the mountains there are also some look out spots and one can see for miles around. My favorite is the ocean view, as it forms a big bay, and the entire bay is on display from one of the mountain passes lookout spots.
Then I can also recommend the views at the Thee Waters Kloof dam. It is the biggest dam that feeds Cape Town city, and it has a big mountain running along in its background. The Franschhoek pass over that mountain also has some stunning views and I have posted the passes before in my blog here.
To me, nothing can compare to the beauty of nature.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

Unfortunately, it is obvious that we now live on an angry planet with a lot of angry people. Are people angry because of the planet or is the planet angry because of people? I think the answer is obvious...

I am amazed every time I see your posts by the beauty of the landscape. The mountains I see so often, are a backdrop in most of your images. Vegetation and flowers are exotic to me, most I only see in florists here in Romania.

Birds, too, have so many species and are so beautiful. South Africa seems a paradise in this regard. Unfortunately, I learn from what you say, and bad things, some very bad, caused by people but also by climate change. These are also happening in the part of Europe where I live but with less intensity, especially those caused by people.

What to say now..., it seems like a cliché when to wish for a happy and good new year, because we know it can't happen, but at least we wish and dream for it.

Health, peace, better people, and strength to get used to and protect ourselves from the changing climate!

Oh yes, the answer is obvious, as the planet is getting tired of people wasting it.

I am a great fan of the mountains, as they remind me in their rugged beauty, how to endure the storms in life with strength. South Africa is famous for its botanica and ample nature. The variety of climates across the country also ensures a wide variety of plant growth and flowers.

A real paradise indeed and that's why so many bird species come to breed here. The sad thing is that we can turn global warming around, but so many people and countries just don't care as they continue to burn toxic gases that gets into the atmosphere. The oceans are also struggling with all of the hundreds of tons of plastic littering it.

Hope my friend, hope is all that we have that sanity will return, to secure the future for the future generations. And it should start in what we call this new year.

Health, peace, better people, and strength to get used to and protect ourselves from the changing climate!

This is what we all hope and pray for.

The sun has unusually illuminated the clouds. They became like a pink mist. It's like someone painted it on purpose. The orange sky is absolutely gorgeous!

all the pictures I saw, they are all very good, and you are right if the sun sets very red and bright tomorrow the weather will be hot.

The view of the mountains is great, with that intense golden color it looks like I'm seeing the sky in 4K 😅 here it's still summer and even though the hottest months of the year haven't arrived I feel like I'm melting already 🥵.

Thank you, and it is also summer here. Maybe you know how how hot the African sun is, and it feels as if one is put in a frying pan some days !LOL

In such beautiful and scenic places, the chill is very much and it is very nice to walk around and our knowledge also increases a lot by getting new information about these places.
