A day of amazing views.

This was indeed the strangest winter that we have had thus far.

Come and enjoy the changing views.

The day ever so gradually turned lighter as you will see, but I decided to show you the day from the start. I always get that sinking feeling that drops my hopes into my shoes when I think that it will rain soon, but thankfully the rain decided to take the day off. So, the opportunities for photos stated to emerge, and I was happy.

We have had some severe incidents here with the winter rains, and once again many people have lost their homes in floods. Not only that, but some people died when their shacks burnt down. There was also the normal uprooting of big trees by the storm winds, and infrastructure damages. By grace our town only had a few streets flooded due to blocked stormwater drains.
So, every time that a day starts like this in my post, we have reason to worry, as one never knows what can happen weatherwise.
Come and have a look how things panned out on this day.

Dark and foreboding the day started.

But not for long, as things stated to turn lighter.

The three palm trees seemed to be looking at the lighter clouds.

A landscape heralded the new day.

And that white tree below always grabs my attention.

Here is a closer look at the white tree.

There was something sitting on the side branch of that tree.

Ah, it was a sleeping goose, and it slept on only one leg.

Nothing way out there, but only an opportunity for me to show you the things that I see on a day. We are now almost at the end of winter, and then we will enter the spring season of new life and colors. And we are so looking forward to it, but I have a feeling that winter will still try some tricks to remind us of its cold :) In the meantime, I have already got photos of a new baby sunbird in our garden that I will show you soon.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

You took some fantastic photos. It's fantastic that the flood damage in your city was minimal. Those floods are a disaster and shouldn't happen again to prevent further damage. But hey, what can you do? Natural disasters are like that. As you said at the end of your post, spring is fantastic. I hope it arrives soon. The weather has been a bit crazy lately. Thanks for making such beautiful posts.

Thank you, and we have a contractor that has been working here to dredge and widen the river that flows from the mountain down through the town to the sea. We had some heavy winter rains, but thankfully no flooding again.
We are now in spring, and things are starting to look great.

I'm glad everyone in your city is safe and that someone is looking out for their safety. It's a pleasure to read that spring is looking good.
