The Diplomat Review: A Gripping Tale of Humanity Beyond Borders

After a long time I saw a movie where I was so engrossed for the whole time that I didn't even remember to look at the mobile phone.

The movie "The Diplomat" is built from the beginning in such a way that there is no chance to take breath for a moment. The heart beats faster, because there is no way to predict what will happen when. In this movie we see John Abraham, who arrives at the embassy to seek help. But the Indian embassy doesn't directly believe his words—they think he might be planning an attack on the embassy.

However, when he is interrogated, it is revealed that he actually only wants to return to his country. India wants him back, but his life is at risk if he stays in Pakistan. Whether the Indian Embassy will help him or not, how events will progress—all this is to be felt in the movie, cannot be explained.

Excellent build and realism :

The biggest strength of this movie is its pace and realism. The movie does not stop even for a moment, pulling the viewer into the flow of the story throughout. But the most surprising thing is that it is inspired by real events, which makes the movie even more emotional.

Characters and Acting :

John Abraham did a great job in this role. His expressions and body language fit the character perfectly.

The negative characters are also developed so well that one really hates them.

Some characters are so realistic and inspiring that you feel respect for them.

Not India-Pakistan, but the story of humanity :

This movie is not only based on India-Pakistan politics. Rather, it shows the struggle of humanity. When you see it, you are forced to go beyond domestic politics and look at the issue from a human perspective.

Cinematography and Music :

The cinematography is so perfect that many scenes seem realistic.

There's little dialogue, but every scene is so realistic, it feels like everything is happening right in front of you.

The music is great too. The suspense and emotional moments are enhanced.

A weak point? Marketing

The only weak point of this movie is that the promotion is not done properly. Even though it was released on Holi, not many people know that such a great movie has been released. If such movies were properly promoted, more people would go to the cinema halls.

Last word – it's a must see!

I didn't want this movie to have a bad ending. I wanted the girl to return home safely, and John Abraham's character to survive. When a movie engages you so much that you start thinking about the fate of the characters—that's when you know it's a really good movie.

So, if possible, watch it in theaters. And if that is not possible, then definitely check out an official platform. Because when such good movies are seen properly, the makers are encouraged, and more such movies are made in future.

If you've already seen it, let us know what you think in the comments. See you in the next review.
