Companion (2025) - A Suspenseful Ride You Shouldn’t Miss

I have just watched a movie which I have been waiting for a long time. Will give a review on how this movie goes - I haven't had time due to some busy schedules, but I finally watched the movie. This movie is called "Companion". I will try to give the review as spoiler free as possible.

I had heard the name of this movie before, also seen the poster, but I thought it would be an ordinary movie. So I didn't have much expectation. Moreover, it got a theatrical release in very few places. But since you wanted, I took a look. I haven't read much about the movie or seen much of the trailer.

I went and watched the movie straight away, because to give a review one needs to understand the whole movie first. If I had known beforehand that it was a bad movie, I might have lost interest. And if I had known that it was something extraordinary, I might have created extra expectations. So I watched the movie without knowing anything.

Movie Plot & Story :

The movie tells the story of a girl who loves a boy very much. That's why he takes the boy to some of his friends, in a secret location. It was a place where everyone was partying. But suddenly the girl accidentally kills one of her friends.

What happens next, why it happens—you have to watch the movie to know everything. For those who have seen the trailer, what I am talking about may not be that interesting, but for those who don't know anything, listen to me and watch the movie straight away.

Movie Pacing & Engagement :

The story of the movie is great! First, the length of the movie is only 1 hour 37 minutes, so it moves very quickly. It didn't feel slow at all. The whole time is full of tension.

But it is not a movie to watch with family. It has a decent amount of violence, though not "John Wick" level. But here you will see bloodshed, murder, corpses.

The movie is basically science fiction and action genre. Although there may be some horror feel, but I would call it a full action movie. There are many twists in it, some mysteries too, which make the story more interesting.

Acting and Presentation :

Everyone did a great job. The movie did not deviate from the subject at all. Was focused the entire time. Didn't bother for a moment.

My Rating :

This movie has an IMDb rating of 7.7 and I would also give it a 7.5/10.

If you want to watch a suspenseful, mysterious, bloody but interesting movie, then definitely watch it. But it is better not to meet with family. Because there are some scenes here that you can't watch with your family. It would be better if you watch it alone or with your friends.

The movie is in theaters, but you can also watch it on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video.
