New courses starting in september
I have been teaching art for 30 years - selling my artworks is not enough for a living, you know. In the next weeks my courses will start again, the old ones and some new. I hope I'll be able to gather a good number of students.
In september, I'll start 8 courses: Oil Painting, General painting, Drawing, Watercolour, Clay sculpture, Art History, Photography, Comics. The last two will be taught by other teachers, not by me.
I hope we'll have some new, young students: I have a lot to teach them both about technique and also about what being an artist means. We will see.

I wonder how many artists can live just off their art. It must be rewarding to see your students develop. Do any of them know about Hive? It could become a good place to show their work.

Not really. I got all my Artwork downvoted on Hive. Luckily there are much better places for Artists these days…. Like Steemit and Blurt.
Well we know you have issues with marky, but Hive is much more than him. It has active development unlike those other platforms. It is imperfect though. If you get into a feud with someone then there's not much others can do. I'm sure you know that marky cannot be influenced, but some don't seem to understand that. My account on steemit is censored, so freedom is limited there.
I don't generally bear grudges as I try to avoid such negativity. I get on with supporting what I enjoy.
I never ever had any feud or contact with this marky person. I have no idea who he is. But he is now downvoting most people on Hive these days. Over 47,000 people. For no reason or explanation.
I expect a lot of those are abuse accounts that need dealing with, but he doesn't seem to like some of the bots. I don't know who he is either, but he doesn't like me much. I don't know what his beef with you is. I'm not going to pick a fight with him and I don't see him downvoting many people who I follow.
I wouldn't use Steemit even if I could as it is corrupt and I just get abuse on Blurt that I don't need.
Cheers for the reblogs. I do okay, but I'm more concerned with helping others. I blog for fun.
I am also more concerned with helping others. Especially other Artists on Hive who have all their earnings stolen by markymark, Buildawhale and Blocktrades on Day 7. Many of those 47,000 bloggers are Artists, photographers, musicians, and writers who get downvoted because a Good Whale appreciates their work and has them on Autovote to receive $1 a day.
Having the whales fighting among themselves does us no favours. There's also the rogue rancho account who has a lot of influence. I assume haejin still runs that. This is the wild west and we have outlaws. Still better than the alternatives though.
For Artists who want to earn a few dollars a week Blurt.blog is much better since they get to keep what they earn.
When I see a good artist getting everything stolen by markymark, Buildawhale and Blocktrades on Day 7, I recommend that they post their work on Blurt where they will not be downvoted on the whim of someone who seems to hate artists.
If they need to buy food, or more art supplies it’s easy enough to exchange their Blurt for Litecoin on Probit, TribalDex, BeeSwap etc. and send to Coinbase or Paypal.
I don't really care if people post on both. They may find a better audience here. I've not seen Paolo get DVs, so it's not as widespread as you make out.
It is much worse.
