Greetings, lovely people of #Vibes. I've noticed a lot of talented Spanish singers around here, so I decided to tell you a little about one of my favorite bands: MOENIA. They're a 90s band that was quite popular back then and is still popular today. I like a few of their songs, and despite all the years, they're still incredible.

  Saludos gente linda de #Vibes. He notado mucho talento cantando en español por aquí, así que decidí hablarles un poco de una de mis bandas favoritas: MOENIA. Ellos son una banda de los 90 que fue bastante popular en aquel entonces y hoy siguen siendo populares. Hay unas cuantas canciones de ellos que me gustan mucho y que a pesar de los años siguen siendo increíbles.

Este grupo, aunque obtuvo su éxito en 1999 con su disco Adición+, iniciaron su carrera en 1985, dando algunos traspiés para lograr format la agrupación y finalmente lanzar su primer album en 1992 y más tarde en 1996. Sólo muy pocas personas tienen sus primeros discos. Y yo no soy una de ellas 🤣

This group, although they achieved success in 1999 with their album Adición+, began their career in 1985, having a few setbacks before finally forming the group and releasing their first album in 1992 and later in 1996. Only a few people have their first albums. And I'm not one of them. 🤣

Y bueno, este grupo como ven si tiene sus décadas. Lo que más me gusta de ellos es que han mantenido su estilo durante todos estos años y sus letras a pesar de inclinarse a lo melancólico, tocan temas profundos del desamor.

And well, as you can see, this group has been around for decades. What I like most about them is that they've maintained their style over the years, and their lyrics, despite leaning toward the melancholic, touch on profound themes of heartbreak.

Lo que los ha caracterizado y mantenido unidos a pesar de todos los inconvenientes que tuvieron para formar la agrupación, es su estilo musical basado en el Synth-Pop. Un género musical que surgió a finales de los años 70 y principios de los 80, caracterizado por el uso prominente de sintetizadores como instrumentos principales.

What has defined them and kept them together despite all the difficulties they faced in forming the group is their synth-pop-based musical style. A musical genre that emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s, characterized by the prominent use of synthesizers as main instruments.

Yo di con ellos cuando lanzaron su tercer album, que fue el disco que los lanzó a la fama a nivel internacional. Mi canción favorita de ellos es y será por siempre Manto Estelar. Me tocó en el alma y en el corazón con su letra como no tienen idea.

I first discovered them when they released their third album, which launched them to international fame. My favorite song of theirs is, and will always be, Manto Estelar. It touched my soul and heart with its lyrics, like you have no idea.

Claro que esa canción no es la única que me gusta. Hace poco lanzaron un sencillo titulado Consecuencias y está excelente. Otra más de ellos para mi repertorio que no pararé de escuchar. Su letra, su tono musical, todo encaja perfectamente.

Of course, that song isn't the only one I like. They recently released a single titled Consecuencias, and it's excellent. Another one of their songs for my repertoire that I won't stop listening to. Their lyrics, their musical tone, everything fits together perfectly.

Otra de las cosas que me encanta de Moenia es su estilo bizarro de hacer sus videos musicales. Son hechos como si no tuvieran sentido porque no guardan relación alguna con la letra de la canción pero estoy segura de que la banda tiene sus razones para brindar sus obras musicales de esta manera. Por mi parte y para mí, sigue siendo un misterio.

Another thing I love about Moenia is their bizarre style of making their music videos. They're made as if they have no meaning because they bear no relation to the song's lyrics, but I'm sure the band has their reasons for presenting their musical works this way. For my part, it remains a mystery.

Sin embargo, detalles así para mí le agregan más personalidad y estilo al grupo, es decir, su incoherencia al armar sus videos. No son nada románticos ni melodramáticos. Tienen un no se qué que ya verán más adelante, al final de mi post.

However, for me, details like this add more personality and style to the group, namely, their inconsistency in putting together their videos. They're not at all romantic or melodramatic. They have a certain something, which you'll see later, at the end of my post.

Al armarles este post con mucho cariño para todos los cantantes fabulosos de #Vibes, me enteré que el significado del nombre del grupo Moenia significa "muralla" en latín y lo eligieron como nombre de la banda para simbolizar una fortaleza y protección para su música.

While putting together this post with much love for all the fabulous singers of #Vibes, I learned that the meaning of the group's name, Moenia, means "wall" in Latin, and they chose it as the band's name to symbolize strength and protection for their music.
