Embracing Love's Redemption

As a child, I did not comprehend. All i knew was pain and confusion. I grew up disliking him, sometimes even hating him. The man, once a figure of authority, had become a source of fear. His verbal and physical abuse left deep scars, with my mother bearing the brunt of it. My sister and I were collateral damage, caught in the crossfire of his anger.

I carried that bitterness like a heavy stone tied to my chest.I struggled to comprehend the situation, feeling only pain, confusion, and eventually, resentment. The man who should have been my protector instead made me feel insignificant, powerless, and unworthy of love. I carried this bitterness with me, often wondering why we had to endure such suffering. There were nights I’d stare at the ceiling, my fists clenched, asking,

A Path to Healing

Years passed, and I grew older. The anger didn’t fade, but something inside me longed for healing. One day, I confronted him—not with fists or fire, but with vulnerability and tears. I shared how his actions had broken me and hurt those he was supposed to love. Initially, he remained silent, but gradually, he began to transform. He apologized. He wept. And for the first time, I saw not the monster, but the broken man behind the pain. I chose love—not because he deserved it, but because I deserved peace.

Choosing Love
I decided to let love guide me, not because my father deserved it, but because I deserved peace. This choice didn't erase the past, but it did offer a new narrative for the future. By embracing love, I was able to reframe my experiences and find a path towards healing and redemption.****
