POBphotocontest: Patrones // Patterns

Hola querido hiver.

Esta publicación es mi participación para el concurso POBphotocontest de la comunidad Proof of Brain.

El patrón de portada lo capturé dentro de este hermoso edificio: la estación de tren de Canfranc, en el Pirineo aragonés. Tengo pendiente escribir una publicación más extensa en la que hablaré de su historia, pero para abrir boca te cuento que es escenario en muchas novelas, en especial las relacionadas con el oro nazi de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Tras décadas de abandono esta majestuosa construcción se ha reconvertido en un hotel de lujo. Los alrededores se han acondicionado y se ha reavivado la actividad económica en la zona. Son numerosas las personas que se acercan a visitarla.

La única zona que se puede visitar si no estás alojado en el hotel es la recepción. Está ubicada en lo que fue el vestíbulo de la estación. La restauración ha sido bastante fiel a lo que había en un origen. Esto lo puedo afirmar porque he visitado varias veces la estación cuando se podía acceder por dentro a pesar de su abandono (o precisamente por él).

Mientras unos miraban hacia arriba admirando el artesonado de madera, yo miré hacia el suelo y me encontré con un estupendo patrón que ahora me sirve para participar en este concurso.

This post is my entry for the POBphotocontest of the Proof of Brain community.

I captured the cover pattern inside this beautiful building: the train station of Canfranc, in the Aragonese Pyrenees. I have yet to write a more extensive publication in which I will talk about its history, but in advance I will tell you that it is the setting for many novels, especially those related to the Nazi gold of the Second World War.

After decades of neglect, this majestic building has been converted into a luxury hotel. The surrounding area has been redeveloped and economic activity in the area has been revived. Many people come to visit it.

The only area you can visit if you are not staying at the hotel is the reception area. It is located in what used to be the station foyer. The restoration has been quite faithful to what it was originally. I can say this because I have visited the station several times when it was accessible from the inside despite its abandonment (or precisely because of it).

While some people looked up to admire the wooden coffered ceiling, I looked down to the floor and found a wonderful pattern that now serves me to participate in this competition.
