Entre palmas y tambores // Between palms and drums

Hola querido hiver.

La mañana del Domingo de Ramos tengo por costumbre (si el tiempo lo permite) asistir a la procesión que hace la cofradía de mi barrio por sus calles. El año pasado ya compartí contigo muchas de las fotos que hice y este no iba ser menos. Espero que se note algo de evolución en mi práctica fotográfica, jeje.

Lució una mañana soleada y con un poco de viento que movía las capas de los uniformes de los cofrades. Se notó en la asistencia de público, bastante más numeroso que un año atrás.

Debo confesarte que no tengo soltura a la hora de capturar personas en movimiento. Soy demasiado lenta desde que me llega la imagen que quiero atrapar hasta que pulso el botón de disparo de mi teléfono. Doy gracias a los programas de edición que me permiten sacar oro de donde a veces existen piedras. En ese proceso descubro detalles nuevos de los que no me di cuenta en el momento de hacer la fotografía, eso me encanta porque les da una dimensión nueva.

En esta publicación no escribiré sobre la historia de la cofradía ni sobre la Semana Santa de mi ciudad. Eso ya lo hice en la publicación que te enlazo en la introducción, por lo que si quieres saber más sobre lo que aquí ves te invito a que después vayas a ella.

Hoy dejo que sean las imágenes quienes cuenten las emociones de sus protagonistas, el ambiente de las calles y el sonido de los tambores.

¿Sonido en unas fotografías? Humm eso está difícil. Pero no podía dejar de compartir cómo el redoble de decenas de tambores hace que te retumben las entrañas en una melodía que se repite como un mantra, causando sus mismos efectos. Sube el volumen y disfruta de este vídeo:

Hi, dear hiver.

On the morning of Palm Sunday I am in the habit (weather permitting) of attending the procession of the brotherhood of my neighbourhood through its streets. Last year I already shared with you many of the photos I took, and this year it will be no less. I hope you notice some evolution in my photographic practice, hehe.

It was a sunny morning with a bit of wind that moved the layers of the brothers' uniforms. It was noticeable in the attendance of the public, which was much larger than a year ago.

I must confess that I'm not very good at capturing people in movement. I'm too slow from the moment I get the image I want to capture until I press the shutter button on my phone. Thanks to the editing software that allows me to extract gold from where sometimes there are stones. In the process I discover new details that I didn't realise when I was taking the picture, and I love that because it gives them a new dimension.

In this publication I will not write about the history of the brotherhood or about the Holy Week in my city. I already did that in the publication I link you to in the introduction, so if you want to know more about what you see here I invite you to go to it afterwards.

Today I leave it to the images to tell the story of the emotions of the protagonists, the atmosphere of the streets and the sound of the drums.

Sound in photographs? Humm that's difficult. But I couldn't help sharing how the roll of dozens of drums makes your insides rumble in a melody that repeats like a mantra, causing the same effects. Turn up the volume and enjoy this video:
