Different people have different meanings for what family means; for some, family are people they are connected to by blood, like mother, father, and siblings; for some, family are people connected by marriage, like their spouse; for some, it's people connected by adoption.

For some set of people, it's their friends they consider family.

I personally feel the word family is far beyond blood ties. The word family means a set of individuals that are committed and loyal to each other, people that love themselves unconditionally and are willing to stand and support themselves emotionally, financially, and physically.
