Italy memories - espresso, love and laughter by @tinabrezpike

image.png

On our regular (not this year) trip to the Balkans, we would go through Italy and we we trying to stop in different places, just to cover more of it... 😃 But, sometimes, we came back to the same place... For example, we visited Vicenza and Treviso multiple times (as of affordable accommodation prices, and a strategic place for taking a break for our 2.5K km trip... 😀)... I do remember having posts about them, but I can't find them all..

More funerary architecture. Hungarian people. Budapest. by @grindle

image.png

I am discovering this community thanks to this post. Funeral art deserves this dedicated space on Hive. It reminds us of the brevity of our time in this world, while also inviting us to make the most of our lives. It also leads us to pay tribute to those who have already fulfilled their mission and whose legacy lives on, even if only through that reminder in stone or metal. I was particularly impressed by the ensemble representing the three ages of man, which is an excellent metaphor for our lives. And in terms of artistic quality, I was surprised by the last one, Mrs. Longneck, which is a far cry from the classic images you see in cemeteries. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and their graves. It's always interesting to learn new things and reflect on them.

Another Crackdown on Crypto Privacy by @gadrian

image.png

It's just a crazy world that we live in... I used TradeOgre in the past (didn't know I'm a criminal either 😃), to get some privacy coins, and it was a cute small exchange... I have never deposited or withdrawn fiat, and I didn't even know it was possible to do it there... Don't know if owners live in Canada (I suppose yes), but they should have seen that coming... especially after those protests and seizing truckers' money...
On the other hand, speaking about taxes, banning crypto, etc., I recall that around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to buy more BTC after the huge drop, but I wasn't able to deposit fiat on any exchange because my bank didn't allow it. Now, if you put all that in perspective, they limited me from earning more money for future taxes (and keeping me "poor", thereby limiting my possibilities) at the place where I live... Isn't that shooting yourself in the foot?! Utterly stupid, conservative, look at the future...

Homemade cottage cheese by @mdrguez

image.png

That is super cool! I remember that we had a neighbor who had cows when our son was small... He grew up on that milk that has nothing to do with the one that we are currently buying in the supermarket...
Now comes the question... 😃 Is it even possible to make cottage cheese from the milk bought from the supermarket?? For me, it looks like it is so diluted with water that it has almost no milk... lol...
Btw. your handmade cheese looks awesome! I remember eating something like that, with a bit of salt and ground paprika, served as an addition to ham, meat, or vegetables...

Miedos y fobias/ Mi temor a los espejos (Esp/Eng) by @popurri

image.png

I have also heard people talk about mirrors, as if they were portals to other unknown places, and that one should not sleep with one in front of us because the soul leaves the body when we sleep and it can be dangerous. The truth is that if you stare at them intently for a long time, it seems that the images we see, whether it is ourselves or what is behind us, become distorted or change in some way. It may be a visual effect or a way in which our brain interprets an image we see for a long time, but in reality, knowing things about other planes, I think anything could happen.
The experiences your daughters had are chilling. It may have had nothing to do with the ghost and the entities were there or something on the phone, but I understand your phobia and that you cover the mirrors in the rooms with a sheet or something.

Un proceso que no elegimos, pero que nos enseña | La Salud de mi papá by @elizabeths14

image.png

What you say is very important. It is important that you were able to talk about it so that you don't get sick, as it is a very painful situation, and emotions can make you ill. You need to be well and healthy to give your father and your family all the support they need. I am very sorry for what you are going through, and I understand and sympathise with you. Many relatives and acquaintances have been lost to this disease in recent years, and I know how painful it is.
But I feel that you have a lot of strength. Although I do not know you very well, I can sense that you have the strength necessary to accompany your father, but also the wisdom to channel that pain and not become ill yourself. You have your father's eyes; that was one of the first things I noticed.
