Mistakes and Successes in My Garden. The Story of My Sunflowers.

Greetings, community of HiveGarden. Today is the first time I'm going to write in the community, I really didn't know it, until I saw the posts of @untilwelearn, who is a fellow network I'm following. And I have seen, several of your posts about the bushes in your garden.

And that motivated me to write, about the planting I did, in my apartment of some sunflower seeds.

The sunflower seeds that I sowed, are the edible seeds that we buy at the dried fruit sales. I, at first, did it as a test to see if the bushes would give, but I sowed them with all the love in the world

To sow them, I used a soil, which is full of nutrients, because the soil is next to a fruit stand, and the friend, who has the stand, makes a compost, with fruit pots, dried leaves, a little lime, and other ingredients that I have not yet asked him what they are.

And he does this, to strengthen the trees that shade his fruit stand, and that are now so leafy, that in addition to giving shade, they protect it from the rain.

The sowing:

To sow the seeds, what I did, was to fill a pot with this soil. But before placing the seeds, I loosened the soil as much as I could, to avoid that if the sowing took place, the roots would be imprisoned with the rigidity of the earth. Then I placed the seeds, and then I placed water on them, and I put water on it every 3 days.

My mistake:

Since I wasn't sure if the seeds would germinate, I placed 5 in the same container, but to my surprise, all 5 germinated and started growing. There came a time, when I saw that the bushes were very close together, and I decided to transfer them to an individual container each.

However, I think that the little plants, did not have enough strength for the transplant operation, but. After passing them to other containers, 3 of the 5 stay strong and keep growing.

To the other two little plants, I passed them, to some plastic cups, with soil and fertilizer, hoping, that they can lift and get enough strength in the roots and the stem, to be able to transplant them to their own container with safety. But only one of them got up, the other one is with the fallen stem, and I'm waiting to see if it gets up and gets stronger.

Learning from mistakes:

Since I learned, that the seeds will germinate without problems, what I did, was to sow, 4 more seeds, but, this time I did it, sowing each one in a particular glass. Now, I will be able to let them grow and strengthen well, so that I can safely transplant them into their own containers.

The sowing process was the same: soil with loose fertilizer and the placement of the seed. In the same way, I will put water on them every 3 days, but this time I will wait, until they are quite strong, the roots and stems, before passing them to the new containers, which will be their final house.

Hello, happy day.
If they are going to be put directly into the earth, I imagine, that all the nearby earth should be softened, and let it out as much as possible and put on it, too, fertilizer.
I, almost all the trees and bushes that I have planted, I do in containers and then move them.
Hopefully and you will be able to grow the sunflowers soon..

The important thing is the learning we can acquire and process from mistakes!
Congratulations!

Wow, Thank you very much for this blog. It is normal to make mistakes but it would be wrong not to learn from them and improve. After learning from your mistakes and making the improvements, I am hopeful that your seedlings will grow much better this time.

Now I have only one doubt because here we have edible seeds without shell and I do not know whether these are processed or raw because if they are raw then they will grow nicely but if they are processed then they will not be able to germinate.
