Una de las situaciones más interesantes que pude ver a nivel de deportes, fue la presentación del equipo nacional de rugby de Nueva Zelanda en el mundial que se celebró en Inglaterra.

Realmente, quedé impresionado con su presentación y el baile de guerra, que si no me equivoco, es un baile de los guerreros Maorí,con el que hacían la entrada al mundial.

Esa fue la primera vez que supe de la existencia de ese deporte, y me enteré e interesé en él, justo por esa impresionante presentación del equipo neozelandés que vi en el mundial, por la televisión.

Una presentación que realmente fue muy mediática, e impactó a mucha gente en esa época.

Después de un par de años, me enteré que mi primo, que vio conmigo el mundial de rugby que arriba comenté, había comenzado a practicar ese deporte en la universidad.

Y un día que lo visité, lo acompañe a un entrenamiento y de verdad disfruté al ver como entrenaban y realizaban sus practicas.

Yo, había hecho lucha olímpica en la universidad, y el entrenamiento en lucha es bastante fuerte. Pero cuando vi el entrenamiento que realizaba el equipo de mi primo, me di cuenta de que realmente el rugby, es un deporte bastante exigente a nivel físico.

Y unos años más adelante, me enteré que un vecino practicaba el rugby, y también conocí a un muchacho al que le dieron una beca para ir a estudiar a Francia, gracias al rugby.

En fin, creo que ese deporte se esta haciendo cada vez mas popular y cada vez más aceptado, además, se hace cada vez más mediático y por lo tanto, mas llamativo para las nuevas generaciones.

Pero lo que me parece interesante, es el haber visto, un deporte, muy desconocido en la región latinoamericana, convertirse en un deporte, visto practicado y con seguidores, en pocos años.

Por lo que espero, que en un futuro cercano,pueda ver a países latinoamericanos, disputarse los primeros lugares en un mundial de este deporte

One of the most interesting situations that I could see at the sports level was the presentation of the New Zealand national rugby team at the world Cup that was held in England.

Really, I was impressed with their presentation and the war dance, which if I'm not mistaken, is a dance of the Maori warriors, with which they made the entrance to the world cup.

That was the first time I knew about the existence of that sport, and I found out and became interested in it, just by that impressive presentation of the New Zealand team that I saw at the world cup, on television.

A presentation that really was very media, and impacted a lot of people at that time.

After a couple of years, I found out that my cousin, who watched the rugby world Cup I mentioned above with me, had started practicing that sport at university.

And one day when I visited him, I accompanied him to a training and I really enjoyed seeing how they trained and carried out their practices.

Me, I had done Olympic wrestling in college, and the wrestling training is quite strong. But when I saw the training that my cousin's team was doing, I realized that rugby is really a very demanding sport on a physical level.

And a few years later, I found out that a neighbor practiced rugby, and I also met a boy who was given a scholarship to study in France, thanks to rugby.

Anyway, I think that this sport is becoming more and more popular and more and more accepted, in addition, it is becoming more and more media and therefore, more eye-catching for the new generations.

But what I find interesting, is to have seen, a sport, very unknown in the Latin American region, become a sport, seen practiced and with followers, in a few years.

So I hope that in the near future, I will be able to see Latin American countries compete for the first places in a world championship of this sport.
