En las situaciones más importantes que se presentan en la vida, nosotros tenemos que tomar decisiones y muchas de ellas, las tomamos al creer en la credibilidad de una persona, de una idea, de una religión, un gobierno, y mas importante aún, en la credibilidad, que tenemos en nosotros mismos.

Por eso, es tan importante, que tanto la gente como las instituciones y gobiernos conserven la credibilidad, ante el público y ante el tercero. Ya que cuando la misma se pierde, los niveles de influencia, ya sea esta positiva o negativa, que tengan una persona, una institución, o una idea, dejan de tener importancia para sus seguidores.

Esta realidad, la vemos mucho en los políticos, que en las campañas por la elección hacen promesas, se enfrentan a líderes corruptos, toman posturas populares y hacen hasta lo imposible para ganarse la confianza y el voto de la gente. Y cuando llegan al poder, simplemente se olvidan de todas sus promesas, y son tan iguales o peores, que aquellos políticos a los que enfrentaban en las campañas.

También vemos este proceso en la religión, donde los sacerdotes, pastores, imanes, rabinos y otros representantes de las religiones, que se consideran los líderes morales de las sociedades y de los grupos de personas que siguen la religión que ellos profesan y donde tienen cierto cargo.

Sin embargo, al ver su accionar diario, al ver su vida y al ver lo que hacen, la gente va perdiendo su fe en ellos. Y en este caso particular, se hace un poco más complicado, ya que cuando las personas pierden su fe en los líderes de una religión, unifican ese sentimiento, separándose también de las religiones.

Lo que no siempre es negativo, ya que si vemos el ejemplo de la iglesia católica en occidente, la pérdida del amplio poder que tuvo hasta el siglo XVII y mediados del XVIII, resultó ser muy positiva para la sociedad y la ciencia. Pero insisto en que el problema en sí, no es la religión, sino los hombres que la dirigen y que manipulan al mundo que los rodea a través de ella.

También tenemos, la importancia de la credibilidad personal, que es tan fuerte y tan necesaria, como lo es en cualquier ámbito de la vida. Y eso lo vemos, cuando decimos una mentira, y a través de ella decepcionamos a una persona que cría en nosotros.

También lo vemos cuando planteamos posiciones, y convencemos a los demás de que las tomen, pero las cambiamos a la medida de nuestra conveniencia, lastimando a personas que en ese momento creyeron en nosotros. Y así hay miles de ejemplos por poner.

Por eso, el ser honesto, el ser coherente entre lo que uno dice y lo que uno hace, el mantener la palabra dada, hace que uno obtenga credibilidad y respeto. Y cuando uno logra tener ese estatus de persona seria, responsable y honesta, debe mantenerlo. Y si uno se equivoca, debe asumir su responsabilidad, pedir disculpas y enderezar el camino.

Ya que cuando es una persona, en la que la gente crea, respeta y sigue, uno tiene una responsabilidad, y no solo con un mimo, sino con las personas que lo rodean. Por eso es tan importante, ser respetuoso, mantener la credibilidad y ser humilde, para aceptar y corregir los errores y equivocaciones, que ven los demás en nuestro accionar.

That is why it is so important that both people and institutions and governments maintain credibility, before the public and before the third party. We see this reality a lot in politicians, who make promises in election campaigns, confront corrupt leaders, take popular positions and do everything possible to gain the trust and vote of the people. And when they come to power, they simply forget about all their promises, and they are as equal or worse than those politicians they faced in the campaigns.

We also see this process in religion, where priests, pastors, imams, rabbis and other representatives of religions, who consider themselves the moral leaders of societies and groups of people who follow the religion they profess and where they have a certain position.

However, when you see their daily actions, when you see their life and what they do, people are losing their faith in them. And in this particular case, it becomes a little more complicated, because when people lose their faith in the leaders of a religion, they unify that feeling, separating themselves from religions as well.

Which is not always negative, because if we look at the example of the Catholic Church in the West, the loss of the broad power it had until the seventeenth and mid-eighteenth centuries turned out to be very positive for society and science. But I insist that the problem itself is not religion, but the men who run it and who manipulate the world around them through it.

We also have, the importance of personal credibility, which is as strong and as necessary, as it is in any area of life. And we see that, when we tell a lie, and through it we disappoint a person who breeds in us.

We also see it when we put forward positions, and convince others to take them, but we change them to the extent of our convenience, hurting people who believed in us at that time. And so there are thousands of examples to put.

Therefore, being honest, being consistent between what one says and what one does, keeping one's word, makes one gain credibility and respect. And when one manages to have that status of a serious, responsible and honest person, one must maintain it. And if one is wrong, he should take responsibility, apologize and straighten the road.

Because when you are a person, in whom people believe, respect and follow, you have a responsibility, and not only with a mime, but with the people around you. That is why it is so important to be respectful, maintain credibility and be humble, to accept and correct the mistakes and errors that others see in our actions.
