Yo recuerdo que cuando estaba en el liceo, estaba empezando el primer año, salí con un tío a visitar a un amigo de él, y recuerdo que el señor vivía cerca de la Av. Sucre. Y cuando pasé por primera vez por ahí, vi la iglesia de la federación, o por lo menos así le decían.
Y después, como todo muchacho, comencé con preguntas y preguntas, sobre el cambio de la avenida en un inicio, y por los edificios, que se veían a la izquierda, que me parecían tan bonitos. Y mis respuestas, fueron dadas por el papá del amigo de mi tío, que era un señor mayor, muy serio y culto, y además me enteré ese día que el señor era miembro de la Sociedad Bolivariana y había escrito algunos libros.
El señor Ramón, al ver mi interés en el tema de los edificios, y de la historia, me invitó a sentarme junto a él, y comenzó a contarme, que al inicio de la avenida Sucre, cuando venía del centro hacia Catia, había unos edificios que eran patrimonio nacional y además parte de nuestra historia, y ahí comenzó a hablarme del Palacio de Miraflores, del Palacio Blanco y del Monumento a la Federación.
Y cuando me habló del Monumento a la Federación, me comentó de la guerra federal, donde murieron casi 300 mil personas, y luego me dijo, que ahí en pleno municipio Libertador, se había creado un monumento, que era el Arco de la Federación, que está ubicado en el calvario, en lo que hoy es el Parque Ezequiel Zamora.
Lo cierto fue que después de escuchar, todas las historias, quedé prendado con el proceso histórico, y eso me llevó a leer y a visitar los diferentes lugares históricos que hay en Caracas. Que realmente son muchos y algunos pocos conocidos.
Y uno de los lugares, que visité, y donde quedé maravillado por su belleza, fue el Monumento de la Federación, y ahí, pude pararme justo debajo del arco del triunfo revolucionario, que proclama la victoria de los federalistas, contra los conservadores.

Muy interesante lo que se llega a aprender y lo que se desconoce justo estando en frente de nosotros.
Ciertamente hay muchos lugares históricos de los que poco se habla y en los que existen monumentos muy lindos, por ejemplo, con tu publicación me acabo de enterar que existe el Monumento a la Federación en el Calvario.
