| Greetings community, my best wishes to all. In Venezuela we have a word in our colloquial dictionary that is widely used and that covers a lot in its conception. Explaining the meaning of the word “coroto” is important so that the reader of the post, who is not from Venezuelan lands, is located in the concept. According to the Venezuelan dictionary, the word cororoto refers to: Any object that is not wanted to be mentioned or whose name is unknown. Therefore, with this word it can refer to anything, whether it is furniture, tableware, clothes, tools, among others. But it can also encompass everything that exists in the universe, at least within Venezuela, and even makes mention of politics. Therefore, in Venezuela it is very common that one is in a house, in a shop, a workshop, and suddenly sees something that one needs to buy, but one does not know the name, or forgot it, and when one sees it, one says to the store clerk or to any person or relative: “Pass me that coroto” or “How much does that coroto cost?”. Already being clear that it is a coroto, he told them that I went to look for a tool that I needed in that market. I was looking for a half-inch chisel and usually on the corotos market you get good second-hand tools. The Los Corotos Market had premises, but there was a strong fire and now part of the shops that were in the premises are now also on the street. I went through part of the stalls that are on the street to look for the tool and I took these images to share them with you. I made the images with an Infinix Hot 50i phone. I hope they will be to your liking. Thank you so much for stopping by my post. My best wishes to everyone. |
