In the Sierra de Perijá in the State of Zulia, near a very beautiful lagoon, which was fed by the waters that deviated in one of the great bends of the Tukuko River, three puppies lived who were very friends and, they spent time together, playing in the jungle, there they enjoyed a lot, the beauty of the flowers, the beautiful and heavenly architecture formed by the branches of the big trees and the huge stones that were on the banks of the river, where they played tirelessly.
The three of them enjoyed the trees very much, and they always felt grateful to them, because the trees covered them from the sun's rays, when it was a very hot day, through the shadows of their branches, and also the trees, also protected them from the rain, in addition, they gave them excellent hiding places for when they played hide-and-seek, and what those three beautiful puppies liked most, were the very tasty fruits that the trees gave and that they enjoyed eating so much.
The most gluttonous of the group was, Camilo, in addition, he was the biggest of all, he was a cub of a Frontino Bear, Camilo is very strong and brave, and also had a very noble and honest heart, he believes himself the caretaker of the jungle and its inhabitants, since he has a great sense of justice and friendship.
By his side, there is always Susana, his lifelong friend, she was born the same week as him. Susana is an Otter puppy, she is very flirtatious, cheerful and intelligent. And the last of the group, is Galiano, who is a Lynx puppy, he is very naughty and cheater, he is also very witty and spends time inventing games, getting the group of friends into trouble many times.
One morning, they gathered on the shore of the lagoon, and began to play as usual. After playing for a while, Camilo told his little friends, that he was hungry, and that he would like to eat something tasty. Susana, also said that she would like to eat something tasty and different.
—Let's go to where the loquat bush is. — said Susanna cheerfully.
—If we go, over there. — Camilo commented.
—Guys, I think we can have something different. Also, I know a place where there is a variety of fruits. And if you want to go with me, we don't have to climb the trees, since I saved enough fruit yesterday to eat with you. — Galiano said.
—Are you serious, are you telling the truth? — Susanna and Camilo asked at the same time.
—We can go running, along the bank, we jump the stones, and after the third bend of the river, we cross to the right, walk a little and arrive. — Galiano said.
—But it's further than our parents allow us to go, we'd better go eat the loquats. —Camilo replied.
—Guys, we come and go fast, it's early and no one will find out, besides it won't be dangerous, if the three of us go together.— Galiano insisted, convincing his friends.
So the three puppies ran out, and played all the way. When they arrived at the place, they saw in a very beautiful forest, which on its right side had some large stones. The place was beautiful, it had big, bushy trees, which made that space protected from the sun. And the most important thing for the puppies is that all the trees in that area were fruit trees.
There were lemon trees, soursop trees, mango trees, and there were also avocado trees, and at the bottom, there were brush bushes. That made the puppies, they felt very happy and content.
—Let's make a plan, to climb the trees, lay down the fruit and then sit down to eat. — said Camilo, who had his mouth watering in the presence of the fruits.
—If we do that. — said Susanna contentedly.
—That's not necessary, come with me. — Galiano said.
The puppies entered through a gap that was between the stones, and when they entered, they saw a lot of fruit, all organized, and in addition to the fruits outside, there were loquats and other fruits from distant places.
—As I told you, I saved and organized, a lot of fruit for you. — Galiano commented.
After that, the three puppies sat down to eat, and they ate so much, that afterwards it was difficult for them to move from how full they were. But when they saw the shade of the trees, they realized the time, and went home.
But before leaving, Susanna told her friends to start cleaning the cave, where the treasure of fruits was. But Galiano told him not to do it, since it was late, and that they would do it the next day, when they came for more fruit.
The next morning, there was a commotion in the village. The children's parents and the other adults were upset and called the village members to a meeting. The children, hid among the bushes, to see and hear the meeting.
At the meeting, Mr. Jaguar commented that a group of scoundrels was raiding the food reserves of the smaller animals. And he informed the community, that a group from outside his area, got into the food reserves, which the Squirrels and Limpets had gathered, since soon their wives were going to have their babies.
When Camilo and Susana found out about this, they realized what they had done, and they felt very bad. In addition, they both fought with Galiano, since he had lied to them. And by deceiving them, they ate part of the Limpets and Squirrels' food reserves, unnecessarily harming those families.
Camilo and Susana, told their parents what had happened. Their parents scolded them, and then they went with them to visit the families of Limpets and Squirrels, who had been harmed by their performance.
After apologizing, and apologizing to the families of Lapas and Squirrels, Camilo and Susana, offered to help them collect as much food as possible, before the ladies Lapas and Squirrels had their babies.
From that moment on, Susana and Camilo went together every morning to pick fresh fruits for the Squirrel and Limpet families. But they never invited Galiano.
One day, Galiano saw them in the morning, and ran out to greet them. But he started to cry when he saw that his friends did not return the greeting and left. But not before telling him that they were very upset with him for having been such a liar and a scoundrel.
The next day, Galiano presented himself again to Camilo and Susana and told them, looking at the floor and lowering his tail.
—I want to apologize for what I did. I already went to talk to Messrs. Lapa and Chipmunk and asked for forgiveness from them and their wives. They forgave me.
I don't want you to be upset with me, you are my friends, I know I acted wrong, and I ask for your forgiveness.
I promise, I won't tell you lies any more, and I promise, I won't be a scoundrel any more, I've already learned my lesson. — Said Galiano, with tears in his eyes and a sad face.
—We're friends, and we always will be, so don't do something like that again. — Said Susanna, with her cheerful face and a huge smile.
—I hope you have really learned, that one must be honest, and that one must respect others, we must be good people, in order to improve our world. —Camilo said very happily.
Now let's go, we will pick fruits for the families, and then we will eat ourselves, and finally, we will bathe in the lagoon, to celebrate the return of our friend.
And so, the three friends ran out, very happy, because they had learned very well and in practice, the meaning of friendship and honesty.

Los Cachorritos y el Tesoro de la Selva: Un Viaje de Redención. Cuento Infantil.
En la Sierra de Perijá en el Estado Zulia, cerca de una laguna, muy hermosa, que se alimentaba por las aguas que se desviaban en una de las grandes curvas del río Tukuko, vivían tres cachorritos que eran muy amigos y, se la pasaban juntos, jugando en la selva, ahí ellos disfrutaban mucho, de la belleza de las flores, la arquitectura hermosa y celestial que formaban las ramas de los grandes árboles y de las enormes piedras que estaban a las orillas del río, donde jugaban incansablemente.
Ellos tres, disfrutaban mucho de los árboles, y siempre se sentían agradecidos con ellos, ya que los árboles, los cubrían de los rayos del sol, cuando este era muy caliente el día, a través de las sombras de sus ramas, y además los árboles, también los protegían de la lluvia, además, les daban excelentes escondites para cuando ellos jugaban a las escondidas, y lo que más les gustaba a esos tres hermosos cachorritos, eran los frutos tan sabrosos, que daban los árboles y que ellos disfrutaban tanto comer.
El más glotón del grupo era, Camilo, además, era el más grande de todos, él era un cachorro de un Oso Frontino, Camilo es muy fuerte y valiente, y además tenía un corazón muy noble y honesto, él se cree el cuidador de la selva y sus habitantes, ya que tiene un gran sentido de la justicia y la amistad.
A su lado, siempre está Susana, su amiguita de toda la vida, ella nació la misma semana que él. Susana es una cachorrita de Nutria, ella es muy coqueta, alegre e inteligente. Y el último del grupo, es Galiano, que es un cachorro de Lince, él es muy travieso y tramposo, además también es muy ocurrente y se la pasa inventando juegos, metiendo muchas veces al grupo de amigos en problemas.
Una mañana, ellos se reunieron a la orilla de la laguna, y comenzaron a jugar como siempre. Después de jugar un rato, Camilo le dijo a sus amiguitos, que tenía hambre, y que le gustaría comerse algo sabroso. Susana, también dijo que le gustaría comerse algo sabroso y diferente.
—Vamos a donde está la mata de nísperos. — dijo Susana alegre.
—Si vamos, para allá. — comentó Camilo.
—Muchachos, yo pienso que podemos comer algo diferente. Además, conozco un lugar donde hay variedad de frutas. Y si quieren ir conmigo, no tenemos que subir a los árboles, ya que guarde bastante fruta ayer para comer con ustedes. — dijo Galiano.
—¿Es en serio, estás diciendo la verdad? — Preguntaron Susana y Camilo a la vez.
—Podemos ir corriendo, por la orilla, saltamos las piedras, y después de la tercera curva del río, cruzamos a la derecha, caminamos un poco y llegamos. — dijo Galiano.
—Pero es más lejos de lo que nos permiten ir nuestros padres, mejor vamos a comer los nísperos. — contestó Camilo.
—Muchachos, vamos y venimos rápido, es temprano y nadie se va a enterar, además no será peligroso, si vamos juntos los tres. — insistió Galiano, convenciendo a sus amigos.
Así los tres cachorros salieron corriendo, y jugando durante todo el camino. Cuando llegaron al lugar, vieron en bosque bien bonito, que en su lado derecho tenía unas piedras grandes. El lugar era hermoso, tenía árboles grandes, tupidos, lo que hacía que ese espacio estuviese protegido del sol. Y lo más importante para los cachorritos, es que todos los árboles de esa zona, eran frutales.
Había árboles de limonsón, de guanábana, de mangos, y también había árboles de aguacate, y en la parte de abajo, había matas de patilla. Eso hizo que los cachorros, se sintieran muy felices y contentos.
—Hagamos un plan, para subir a los árboles, tumbar la fruta y luego sentarnos a comer. — dijo Camilo, que tenía la boca hecha agua ante la presencia de las frutas.
—Si hagamos eso. — dijo Susana contenta.
—Eso no hace falta, vengan conmigo. — Dijo Galiano.
Los cachorritos entraron por un hueco que había entre las piedras, y al entrar, vieron mucha fruta, toda organizada, y además de las frutas de afuera, había nísperos y otras frutas de lugares lejanos.
—Cómo les dije, guardé y organicé, mucha fruta para ustedes. — Comentó Galiano.
Después de eso, los tres cachorros se sentaron a comer, y comieron tanto, que después les costaba moverse de lo llenos que estaban. Pero al ver la sombra de los árboles, se dieron cuenta de la hora, y se fueron a su casa.
Pero antes de irse, Susana le dijo a sus amigos, que se pusieran a limpiar la cueva, donde estaba el tesoro de las frutas. Pero Galiano, le dijo que no lo hicieran, ya que era tarde, y que lo harían al día siguiente, cuando vinieran por más fruta.
En la mañana siguiente, en el pueblo había un alboroto, los padres de los niños y los demás adultos, estaban molestos y llamaron a los miembros del poblado a una reunión. Los niños, se escondieron entre las matas, para ver y escuchar la reunión.
En la reunión, el señor Jaguar comentó, que un grupo de sinvergüenzas, estaba asaltando las reservas de comida de los animales más pequeños. E informó a la comunidad, que un grupo de afuera de su zona, se metió en las reservas de comida, que habían reunido las Ardillas y las Lapas, ya que pronto sus esposas iban a tener sus bebés.
Al enterarse de esto, Camilo y Susana, se dieron cuenta de lo que habían hecho, y se sintieron muy mal. Además, ambos pelearon con Galiano, ya que él les había mentido. Y al engañarlos, ellos se comieron parte de las reservas de comida de las Lapas y las Ardillas, haciéndoles un daño a esas familias, sin necesidad.
Camilo y Susana, le contaron a sus padres lo que había pasado. Sus padres los regañaron, y después fueron con ellos a visitar a las familias de Lapas y Ardillas, que se habían perjudicado con su actuación.
Después de pedir disculpas, y perdón a las familias de Lapas y Ardillas, Camilo y Susana, se ofrecieron, para ayudarlos a recoger la mayor cantidad de alimentos posibles, antes de que las señoras Lapas y Ardillas tuvieran sus bebés.
A partir de ese momento, Susana y Camilo, se iban juntos todas las mañanas a recoger frutas frescas, para las familias de Ardillas y Lapas. Pero nunca invitaron a Galiano.
Un día Galiano los vio en la mañana, y salió corriendo a saludarlos. Pero se puso a llorar al ver que sus amigos, no le contestaron el saludo y se fueron. Pero no sin antes decirle que estaban muy molestos con él por haber sido tan mentiroso y sinvergüenza.
Al día siguiente, Galiano se presentó de nuevo ante Camilo y Susana y les dijo, mirando al piso y bajando la cola.
—Quiero pedir perdón por lo que hice. Ya fui a hablar con los señores Lapa y Ardilla y le pedí perdón a ellos y a sus esposas. Ellos me perdonaron.
No quiero que estén molestos conmigo, ustedes son mis amigos, sé que actué mal y les pido perdón.
Prometo, ya no decirles mentiras y prometo, ya no ser un sinvergüenza, ya aprendí mi lección. — dijo Galiano, con lágrimas en los ojos y cara de tristeza.
—Somos amigos y siempre lo seremos, así que no vuelvas a hacer algo así. — Dijo Susana, con su rostro alegre y una enorme sonrisa.
—Espero que realmente hayas aprendido, que uno debe ser honesto, y que uno debe respetar a los demás, debemos ser buenas personas, para poder mejorar muestro mundo. — Dijo muy contento Camilo.
Ahora vámonos, recogeremos frutas para las familias, y después comeremos nosotros, y para terminar, nos bañaremos en la laguna, para celebrar el regreso de nuestro amigo.
Y así, salieron los tres amigos corriendo, muy contentos, ya que habían aprendido muy bien y en la práctica, el significado de la amistad y la honestidad.
