Hola amigos, esta mañana empecé a terminar la restauración de la "Repisa". No sé si recuerdan que hace tres días publiqué sobre la restauración de una vieja repisa de madera, tipo perchero, la cual había estado brincando de casa en casa, digo esto porque primero la teníamos en mi casa, luego se la regalamos a mi hija, quien la tuvo durante ocho años, pero como ya estaba tan vieja y fea, la abandonaron en un rincón, pero lo bueno es que esta repisa aun tenía dolientes "Mi esposa y yo" jajaja..

Si amigos, mi esposa rescató esta vieja repisa y me sugirió que la restaurara, así que el pasado día sábado, le dedique unas dos horas de trabajo a esta repisa, con la idea de cambiarle su apariencia, la verdad es que estaba muy deteriorada, había perdido el brillo del barniz y aparte de eso, también se le habían perdido los ganchos que se usaban para colgar ropa u otras prendas de vestir. Bueno mis amigos, hoy me levante ansioso de terminar de restaurar la vieja repisa, por lo menos quedó pendiente la colocación de los ganchos de maderas que logré fabricar, también me falta la aplicación del barniz sobre toda la superficie de la repisa, por lo menos no tuve que comprar barniz, porque conseguí un poquito con mi sobrino, también quiero colocarle un detalle decorativo a esta repisa para que luzca más atractiva, sobre este detalle he decidido ponerle una cinta decorativa de color beige en el borde de la madera, en realidad, es importante la creatividad en este tipo de trabajos, sobre todo, hay que ingeniárselas con el material que se disponga en el momento, mi esposa me mostró varias cintas y de todas ellas escogí un modelo de color beige, pienso que quedó bien, no se que opinarán ustedes de este detalle.

Como les decía anteriormente, estos ganchos los logré fabricar con un pedazo de madera, la verdad es que se ven muy bien a pesar de que los hice a mano con un cuchillo y segueta, estos ganchos los fije de la repisa, con el uso de tornillos y pega banca para madera:

Apliqué el barniz con un pincel de cerdas suaves, procurando extender bien el líquido para no dejar marcas, como los relieves de las cerdas. También quiero destacar que añadí un poco de tinte para madera color caoba al barniz para oscurecer la madera un poco más.

I applied the varnish with a soft-cell brush, taking care to spread the liquid well so as not to leave any marks, such as the reliefs left by the bristles of the brushes. I also want to highlight that I added a little bit of mahogany-colored wood stain to the varnish, with the idea of ​​darkening the wood a little more:

Si amigos, aun le falta el detalle decorativo que les comentaba, les decía que quería ponerle una linea de color en el borde de la madera, por lo que mi esposa me mostró varias cintas y entre ella y yo escogimos una cinta de color beige, de manera que enseguida comencé a colocar la cinta con el uso de cola blanca:
