Cheers to a New Beginning

Hello everyone, my name is Joshua Osiati Oladiran. I am a newbie, and I am sure I have got this excitement deep down in me that I will be enjoying excellent works from great minds and also be sharing my own view with this great community of people.

‎ I am from Nigeria, and actually you can say I am a Black man because I have dark skin. I have been called many names, and some of these names were given to me as a result of my talents. I was called Lyrical Smith at a time in my life because I was good at writing love letters and poems; I spent most of my time, especially in my secondary school, writing love letters for seniors to their girlfriends.

‎ Honestly, at that point I felt I had the master key to every lady’s heart, until I fell in love and discovered that my charm didn’t work on all the girls. I am already going deep into my life story, but hold on, I will take it slow. I hail from Oyo State in Nigeria; we speak the Yoruba language, and yes, there are many exciting dishes that we have. I really have not been to my village because my dad was the type that travelled, so all I know about my tribe was told to me by the sweetest woman in the world, my mum.

My mum is a Benin woman; she is from Edo State, so you can say I got many genes running through my veins. I have a feeling I will return to my hometown someday. Just as Superman did, I will help facilitate better growth and development in my village. I attended all my primary and secondary school in Kaduna, and it was fun all through. I will say some of the good qualities I adopted were from the north. They are very nice people; I learnt how to share, care and be contented with whatever God gives to me.

I had good friends, people who were not concerned with the so many mistakes I made but rather corrected me in love. My best friend's name in my secondary was Odedire Aaron. His family played a very great role in my life; they took me as their own child. Among the good friends I had, I also had some friends who broke my trust. After secondary school I applied for biochemistry at the University of Ife, but I was not given it; that period was the most challenging time of my life. I was very depressed.

The next year I applied to the University of Benin to study animal science, and this time I gained admission. I was involved in politics all through my university years; I graduated as a Right Honourable. I had big dreams during my university year, but sadly I was not able to achieve most of them. I came out a time for speakership of the parliamentary body of my faculty, but sadly I lost that too.

‎I generated a great passion for cooking during my university year. I learnt how to make different types of dishes and also learnt how to make barbeque, shawarma, ice cream, popcorn, etc. You can deduce that I am a person who loves to eat. I love cooking, reading, singing and watching science fiction movies.

I just concluded my NYSC on the 18th of December 2025. I served in Enugu State as a mathematics teacher in a government secondary school. My passion to impact was my motivation and also my student's strong desire to learn. I became the president of the agro-allied community development service in Nkanu West, Enugu State, where I conducted many outreaches to schools and local farmers. Currently I have been given admission to the University of Ibadan to pursue my master’s programme.

I was introduced to the Hive Blockchain @somuchgrace a lady I met in Enugu during NYSC when she was reaching out to the youths with the news of the Hive Blockchain, so I got interested and I joined it. I am ready to explore, learn, earn and grow in this space.
