ONE DUTY OF PARENTS

Giving children a grounding in financial matters is a parents responsibility not their school's responsibility, this is my opinion. Dear onyinye-chi this opinion of yours is wrong, you may say, my reply is res and no. No because the parents have a very serious job to do raising their kids in the right way and that includes giving them a grounding in financial matters. Yes because the school also has to help, the school might take up 40% while the parents take up 60% depends on the parenting.

We went for a family outing one day, by we I meant my self and my family here in school, yes I have a school mum so definitely her family is also mine 😁🥱 and while on the outing and everything I heard ( let's call her my younger sister, of course I don't have one) she said aunty Esther do you know what? I answered what, and she continued, do you know there was a time daddy gave us money while we were at the mall only to test us? I was like wow 😲 tell me more and she went on and on on how the others spent their money on sweet and others but she bought cooking oil for the house, I burst out laughing and was like cooking oil for what? Only to later hear the full gist.

After all the shopping and everything daddy sat everyone down and started teaching them on the importance of spending, saving, and investing and they listened with rapt attention, till date he does the same thing. When visitors comes to the house and gifts the children in cash or kind, he doesn't take the money from them, he say nothing but at the end of the month you will present a balance sheet of how you spent your money. Now I don't think there's any teacher that would be patient enough to teach kids the way my foster siblings are being thought about financial matters.

40% on the teacher's side will just be mainly from the school's curriculum or maybe the teacher chooses to treat her kids like mother hen but it won't be the same as the parents teaching a child on the same issue.

Parents has more responsibility when it comes to that matter. School can give their parts too, like a guide or what but most of it should be from the parents. And i mean, when they see their parents doing some wise spending, i'm sure even at hope they can also practice it. Right? It should start at home.
