Anime review by onlygods55: Ne Zha (2019)
Welcome to my new hive blog
How are you all. Hope everyone doing well and enjoying the day.
Ne Zha
is one of the most powerful Chinese animated fantasy anime that tells about the story of a misunderstood witch child born with great power and a tragic fate. It’s a blend of action, emotion, mythology, and humor wrapped in amazing visuals and a heartfelt message. Even if you’ve never watched Chinese animation before, this movie might change your mind. Hope everyone is enjoying it.
My review and summary
The story started with a beautiful magical pearl which created balance to the world. During aconflict among gods, the pearl is broken into two, and one part becomes the Spirit Pearl, full of positive energy, while the other becomes the Demon Orb, filled with darkness. A child is born from the Demon Orb, and his name is Ne Zha. He is the main character of the movie.
From the moment Ne Zha is born, the people of his village fear him because his activities are too dangerous. He looks different, has incredible powers, and accidentally causes destruction. His parents love him very deeply and try to protect him; it’s hard to change how people see him. Everyone believes he is a devil or monster.
Ne Zha is not a typical “bad guy” or a villain. He is just a child who wants to live a normal life and make friends and wants love from everyone, but he struggles with loneliness, anger, and the idea that he’s destined to become evil day by day. That’s a powerful and relatable message that how people treat you doesn’t always reflect who you truly are. A wonderful massage in this movie.
The story continues: Ne Zha meets Ao Bing, another powerful boy born from the Spirit Pearl. They start off as enemies but soon after realize they’re both trapped by fate and the expectations of others. Their friendship is one of the most touching parts of the film, and I love to see their friendship.
The animation is stunning. The colors, action scenes, and character designs are all top-notch, I must say. You really feel the emotion in every scene, whether it’s Ne Zha’s rage, his parents love, or the fear of the villagers. The film mixes serious moments with fun and humor, mysterious which keeps things interesting and balanced and make a wonderful movie.
My opinion
One thing about the movie that stands out is the message: "I am the master of my own fate." Ne Zha refuses to let others decide and doesn’t want to be labeled as a demon or hero. He just wants to be himself.
