Christmas season,family time

Christmas has alway been made special even as nothing really changes maybe because it is called and made special is the reason why on that day everything made is special especially the food, during the Christmas period there a different taste that the cooking brings.

Aside my birthday my most special other day used to be Christmas, nothing really changed I guess I just grow up, and the fact that I have been far from home i guess that is why the excitement was down a bit.

But this year I’m really hoping to make it back home for the celebration aside the fact that I really want to go and see my siblings I have missed that family time that Christmas brings, thinking now about it, I just realized it been over five years since I celebrated Christmas with my family, and really excited no looking forward to it.

Five years you may ask why, I left home quite young to live with a relative, in hope of bettering my live I came from a really large family and before I left home I was the only girl, I know it comes with a advantages but the disadvantage was too much, I was that child that was not allowed to do anything because aside being the only girl I was a sickly girl, no I’m not a sicker but I guess the over pampering got to my brain, and being a daddy’s girl it was really a hard one couple with the fact that my daddy was in the police department, he was always away.

One of the holidays my Aunty invited me to come over to Abuja I was really excited, she was my favorite Aunty and my mother immediate younger sister, I came to visit fall in love with the city and didn’t want to go back, and since than Abuja has been a place I made home, finished my primary secondary and even my university education, and even afterwards I got a place here in Abuja, I did visit but after the death of my father, i have only had family time twice, when he was lied to rest in our home town, and a year later after my mother decided to move back home to be close to her husband I want to see her and helped her settle in and after that I haven’t been home, and yes I do see my mother and a few of my siblings, my mother has been to my place more than four times, I understand she misses me I do to.

I’m really looking forward to traveling home this year and it going to be a surprise because I have been telling my siblings and mother that I won’t be able to make it hope as work won’t give me that space, talking about my travels makes it even more exciting for me.

No matter how stressed i am when I remember my place for the Christmas season I get really excited I even got gift for my mom and the baby of the house and guess what my traveling bags has been packed even before we got into November I’m really excited I can’t lie.
