Uzumaki -A horror anime by Junji Ito
First of all, I'd like to start with the sentence, I miss you guys too. It's been a very long month and I'm glad it over and we're in a new one. Happy New month even if it's the third day in. I think I've left my anime era or there might be something blocking it. I'm lazy watching now. I slept off whenever the conversation between characters seem to never end. I fast-forward a lot of scenes and I'm not known for that. I love absorbing everything in,from the junky scenes to the peak scenes and that might be part of the reasons I've been posting less often. That and probably because I'm a procrastinator. Guys,I would genuinely appreciate anything you have for me that can help me overcome this thing called procrastination. It is eating away at my soul. I want to stop, please. Tell me what works for you.
Anyone a fan of Junji Ito here? I remember coming across one of his manga earlier last year and well, I liked the way he drew. Creepy but astonishing. One of his mangas got adapted last year, Uzumaki. I've been looking forward to watching this since it aired but never really had the chance to do that until recently. It's a 4 episode anime so honestly, it didn't really have me wasting a lot of time on it and that was such a relief. I really don't know how time eludes me nowadays. It's terrifying just thinking about it.

The anime, Uzumaki, sets in the quiet coastal town of Kurouzu-cho, where a strange obsession begins to take hold, with spirals. It starts small: a man's fascination with snail shells, a woman's fear of curls in her hair. But soon, the town begins to twist. Quite literally.
The story follows high schooler Kirie Goshima and her uneasy boyfriend Shuichi Saito, who sense that something deeply wrong is growing in their town. Kirie is a kind, observant high school girl who becomes the anchor of the story. While her boyfriend, Shuichi is among the first to sense that something is deeply wrong with the town. His paranoia and obsession with escaping Kurouzu-cho put him at odds with everyone else. As things spiral out of control, so does his grip on hope.
People change, both in body and mind. Nature warps. Time starts to behave strangely. And at the center of it all, the spiral returns over and over again.

As Kirie and Shuichi try to uncover the truth, they find themselves pulled deeper into a mystery older than the town itself. What lies beneath Kurouzu-cho might explain everything or nothing at all. The spiral has no end. Or beginning.
By the end, nothing is as it was but everything feels eerily familiar.
Just a little heads up guys. The animation is a bit weird ,bizzare, shitty. Well,I can't really describe it but it went downhill after episode one. And it was a major spoiler. But regardless,it's a lovely watch.
Thanks for reading.
Junji Ito and his works are simply incredible. And welcome back, cutie! 💗
Thankyou so much darling;)
The animation was horrible and their stories are better as still images where the mind just fill in the horror. I like his works but I understand how it's difficult to adapt his visual horror style because differences in media.
I completely agree with you. The animation wasn't it at all
After reading your post, I think this anime is a very scary anime. I like this kind of anime. I will try to watch it when I have time. Good review.
You might want to read the manga instead. The animation of this one after the first episode wasn't done properly.
Thanks for reading
Welcome my friend 🧡
Sometimes I get so into an anime, and then... BAM, I just can't keep up! Maybe try watching it in shorter bursts? That helps me when I'm struggling to stay on track!
I think I'll try this but asides this. I also need a way to manage my time better, nothing works for me man. I will still say "I'll do it later" and later will come and I'd say, "I'll do it some other time"🥲

I missed you too;)😂❤️
I've always wanted to see this but then I read things like the animation and I don't want to. I've seen some weird stuff but the images of this are out of this world hahaha
I understand the reasons for your procrastination. I also stop writing when I start watching an anime that has something that completely hooks me. What I usually do is write down and note down in a notebook what anime I've seen, which ones I want to see, and which ones I'd like to review. I categorize them by genre and usually review anime that is currently airing after the season is over, and I only choose the ones I liked and the ones that are short. In your case, you can choose from the anime you've seen, the ones that have been shorter or easier to watch, and talk about them.
As for this anime, I didn't like the adaptation at all because of the way it ripped everyone off with its first episode compared to the following ones. If I see that an anime has such poor animation quality, I simply stop watching it or don't even start it. It's unfortunate since Junji Ito has always had bad luck with adaptations of his works, but for this I'd much rather watch the series that came out of his collection: Junji Ito Collection and Junji Ito Maniac (recommended).
Good review.
Thankyou so much for the tip @nattosenpai . I will definitely be practicing that soonest. I genuinely appreciate.
And yeah,it was a shitty animation.
Thanks for commenting;)
