Not so bad
After reading some posts relating to the #mondaybookprompt, it was time for me to actually write about it. Actually,I got a little motivated by a post from @jhymi.
We are talking about milestones for 2025 when it comes to reading books. Honestly, I've never been one to do all that keeping of records or taking note of the amount of books I've read in a year, that sort of thing. I just read any book, whatever number of books and call it a year. Getting into some of the insides of bookstagram and some book clubs on WhatsApp,discord and telegram, made me realize the importance of keeping record. It's all about growth. You being reminded that oh yeah,I did that. I read that. It impacted a lot and trying to remember everything you felt during those hours you spent reading those gigantic number of books. I have a friend,in this book club I'm part of on WhatsApp. She was randomly talking on the group chat one day, about how she accomplished her goal of reading 250 books in a year. I was genuinely proud of her because she did that. It means a lot to achieve what you've set out to accomplish or do.
This year has been...a lot, regarding my book reading journey. Someone please take me back to 2019, where I could finish 10 books in a week and be going at almost 300 in a year. It's so sad, if I'm lucky I can finish just one book throughout a whole week. From grace to grass.
I read more than 20 books this year. So definitely, I'd take that as a win. A mini one. For next year though,I really have no idea. I don't want to tag a label on it because I already know next year is really going to be stressful(or not. I have to be positive in life) for me academically. But I'll give it my best though. I want to be able to read multiple books a week again. I miss it. I miss the feeling of just reading without worrying about mismanaging time or having something else that's urgent and life(school) threatening to accomplish.
Honestly, it's tiring. What I do know,is that I want to read more than 2x the books I read this year. I didn't read a lot this year. I think I might go back to Wattpad. Maybe to ease into reading multiple books a week again.
Sometimes,I read books with really weird and scary covers;)
Thanks for reading...
