Made in Abyss [Anime Review]
Was ranting randomly to this Ai on discord some months ago and idk, it actually understood me, even if I knew yeah, that was just some codes speaking to me. And this has absolutely no idea to do with what I'm about to say next.
I feel... weird. It's almost half a year now and I'm still in the process of completing black clover. For some reasons I'm just slow and it's a pain. Been watching random side animes though, but that doesn't count. In my prime, I used to binge watch a lot. I still have another prime awaiting me but sometimes, I like to mourn the old me.

Today, we shall be talking about Made in Abyss. Made in Abyss is a powerful and emotional anime that tells the story of a young girl named Riko and her journey into a deep and mysterious hole in the ground called the Abyss. This story may look cute at first, with its child characters and soft animation style, but it quickly becomes dark, heartbreaking, and unforgettable.
The Abyss is a giant pit that goes deep into the Earth. No one knows exactly how far it goes. The deeper you go, the stranger and more dangerous everything becomes. There are powerful monsters, strange plants, and ancient ruins. But the most frightening thing is the Curse of the Abyss; this is a strange sickness that affects anyone who tries to climb back up after going down. The deeper you go; the worse the curse becomes. At first, it’s just dizziness and nausea; but at the lower levels, it can cause bleeding from every part of your body; madness; and even death.
Riko is a 12-year-old girl who lives in a town built around the edge of the Abyss. Her mother; Lyza the Annihilator; was one of the greatest explorers, called White Whistles. One day, Riko receives a mysterious message and a relic from deep inside the Abyss. The message seems to be from her mother, who is thought to be dead. It says: “I’ll be waiting at the bottom.” This changes everything for Riko. She believes her mother is still alive and decides to go down into the Abyss to find her.

But she doesn’t go alone. Along the way, she meets a strange robot boy named Reg. He has no memories of who he is or where he came from, but he clearly came from deep within the Abyss. Reg has long, powerful arms and can shoot energy blasts. He joins Riko on her journey; and the two of them become very close.
The anime has two seasons and a movie that connects the first and second seasons, with about 13 episodes each.
The anime looks cute on the outside, but it has deep, mature themes. It shows that the world is full of wonder and beauty; but also cruelty and suffering. The music, made by Kevin Penkin, is magical and emotional. It makes every moment feel alive, whether it's peaceful or tragic.
Made in Abyss is a one-of-a-kind anime. It will break your heart; but also fill it with wonder. It’s not an easy show to watch, but it’s worth every second if you’re ready for a dark and beautiful story.
Thanks for reading.
Talking to AI is kinda comforting too no?
Anyways, I seeing this anime on my feeds even now but I can't still find the time to check it. So this can make me feel a lot of emotions. The story sounds good but i'm not sure if i'm ready to be sad in one anime. I'm currently watching "Too Many Losing Heroines!" rn and even though it makes me laugh at times, there are times that it made me think deeply, then get hurt in the process and thats why I can't finish it yet coz if its vibe. For sure this anime is the same 🫨, for now i'll save it un my watchlist ✨💃
@ruffatotmeee oh yes, you'd get sad a bit and it can be disturbing too. Probably gave almost the same vibe as Dororo, I can't remember anymore as I'm back to watching black clover again. And no, not really. Talking to Ai isn't really comforting. I just do it cause I don't have someone to talk to sometimes and other times I just want to;)

Greetings. I saw it at the time and at first I thought it was pretty sweet, but as the story progressed it was uncomfortable and hard to watch. It is not what it seems.
Nope...@carminasalazarte it's not what it seems at all. It's really disturbing. Oh, seems I forgot to input that in the review, so sorry. But it gave a bit of dororo vibe and probably some of jinto's manga vibe
It's very good, it has its little things but I liked it a lot. Good post honey! 🌸
Did it irk you out a bit? Reading the comment section now, I think I forgot to input that it's a bit disturbing in the review. Sigh, my bad. And thanks for commenting!❤️
I mean the anime bb💗💗
Never touched this one for years because of the reviews. It's said to be disturbing. After reading your post I felt intrigued now. Might as well watch it then.
It's actually a bit disturbing, ngl. But it's a great watch
